When did the kingdom of Christ begin? When did He begin his messianic, Davidic rule? Or, perhaps some of you would prefer it to be put (though I don't agree with it), When will he begin his rule? However, what is the beginning of his rule?

At His resurrection/ascension.
Yep. That was the fulfillment of this scripture:
I was gazing into the visions of the night, when I saw, coming on the clouds of heaven, as it were a son of man. He came to the One most venerable and was led into his presence. On him was conferred rule, honor and kingship, and all peoples, nations and languages became his servants. His rule is an everlasting rule which shall never pass away, and his kingship will never come to an end. Daniel 7:13-14 (NJB)

I think Reba's points are important. Jesus is royal by birth. Even though certain events had to transpire before his exaltation in Resurrection. And I think its more than a literary device. Jesus was most certainly born the King of Israel, just as He was most certainly crowned with everlasting life more than 30 years later.. He never denies His royal status yet not until after the Resurrection does He claim 'all power and authority'.
Seems to be inline with his dual nature.

Jesus Christ created this Earth. He is king, yes even eternal king. The king became a man. He never became a king He always was “the king”.
2000 years ago He revealed Himself to the world as a man and was declared the king but he always was the king. The good news is “the kingdom of God has come to man". That is like saying “look! the king”:yipee:

The kingdom of God as an Eschatological event happened in conjunction with the destruction of the temple in 70AD as represented by Luke 21:31-32.
The kingdom had to emerge from the midst of the Roman Empire as the empire was meeting her demise.
On a different topic, we could ask, "When did Jesus become king?" There may even be different phases or stages of this kingship. For example, He may have come in a manner as being an heir to the throne, then been inugurated with the death and ressurrection and finally received the domain of the kingdom after the temple destruction.

Dear Joelkaki,
I have heard variations on this theme and others regarding the Kingdom. There are some who differentiate between the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of Christ. Is that the case with the OP of this thread? Do you differentiate between these?
All the best.
