WASHINGTON, May 4, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - "I believe it is the most basic duty of Government to guard the innocent. With that in mind, I will veto any legislation that weakens current Federal policies and laws on abortion, or that encourages the destruction of human life at any stage." So said President Bush yesterday in identical letters sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nv.).
In his letters, the President wrote, "I am concerned that this year the Congress may consider legislation that could substantially change Federal policies and laws on abortion, and allow taxpayer dollars to be used for the destruction of human life. I am writing to make sure that there is no misunderstanding of my views on these important issues." And what is NARAL's Response. trying to spin it with lies about Bush wanting to halt needed medical help for women.

..."George W. Bush essentially told the new Congress that he wants to continue denying millions of women access to essential medical services, including family planning and safe, legal abortion, even if it means jeopardizing their health. Just how is that 'pro-life'?" Keenan said. "Americans are tired of Bush's hypocritical, divisive attacks on a woman's right to choose. That's why they voted the anti-choice congressional leadership out of office. The GOP presidential candidates should take note that embracing Bush's agenda is not a smart strategy."
emphasis mine
Abortion on demand is essential? give me a break. Read the letter for yourself. The link is in the 2nd paragraph of the first article in this. it is in PDF form.
