After I posted this thread yesterday, I ran into a horrific thread on IIDB. I won't post links. You'll have to take my word for it that I've read the story and seen the videos. A young, 17-year-old Kurdish Iraqi gal apparently fell in love with a young muslim boy and ran off to marry him, prompting her disownment from her non-muslim family. Unfortunate, but not really a big deal as it stood. It didn't stand. Her family, her mother!, wrote to tell her that all was forgiven, and she should come back to visit her home town. The villagers captured the greetings on camera phones, six of which were posted.

The video is shaky and confused, with the first clear shots showing nothing but heads and shoulders until the girl shows up held in a headlock by one of the men, being dragged to where she would be killed. The other videos show crowd scenes, with shouting in the audio, and occasional brief glimpses of the girl lying on the ground, alternately being kicked or struck with large stones. Her movements become slower as she rolls from side to side, at the last stages of agony. Finally a large stone is brought down onto her head, ending the ordeal. A little later one man reaches down to cover her legs with the skirt that had been displaced leaving her nearly naked from the waist down, save for her bikini briefs.

I just watched the video. The girl who converted to Islam looks to have been a very beautiful girl. In one of the clips it shows the last few seconds of her life. She struggles to sit up for what will be the very last time, and then they commit that last dastardly act. The LEO's did not only do nothing to prevent it, but assisted!
