I find it interesting that no psychologist, councilor, or social worker
ever considers a spiritual connection to school shootings.

A christian bus driver said a few days before the columbine shootings
the two boys got on his bus. He could feel the evil and smell an evil
smell coming from them.

parents were trying to get him help (was said in the papers and on the
news) from the churches. They said he was demon possessed.
He had a demented website and thought the columbine shooters

The bible says in the end times satan will be cast out on the earth full
of anger for he knows he has only a short time before jesus comes back
to earth and chains him up. He has been cast down.
What better person to fill with rage and anger than a young college
student already having problems.
But no, satan is not real just a fabel.
It was his medication, enviornment, childhood that caused him to kill.
For those of us who believe in a real devil behind this, there is hope.
For jesus said,"hold fast for I come quickly".

yeah, well...you make a really odd connection. firstly, not not everyone who listens to awful music is going to bring a gun to school and shoot their peers. secondly, having a "spiritual connection" can mean a slew of things, but you later define it to mean something more accurately described as "satanic activity" or "demonic forces."

further, i think it's unwise to blame demonic forces for sin. that's what it is, isn't it? scripture says that we sin when we are enticed by our own evil desires. now that doesn't mean there's no such thing as demon possession or whatnaught; i'm just saying...i'd rather see it treated like it is: sin.

there's a whole culture surrounding the school shooting generations. if we're going to address the issue, let's be practical about it. our culture breeds this stuff. i don't deny that there are forces at work (ephesians 6, right? we wrestle not against flesh and blood?), but i think the church would get a lot farther if she addressed the things that are breeding the sin, rather than to shake our finger and say "bad satan."

you need hope? i find that curious. it seems to me that it is the folks walking into schools with guns who need hope.....not you and me. you and me, we've got it. jesus has cleansed us and called us his own, right? what have we to worry? but these kids...they need hope. the question is....are you willing to believe that there is hope enough for this generation of school shooters? or are you content to label it "demonic activity" and not dirty your hands by touching it?

i've been in pentecostal-ish circles my entire life, and this is the first i've heard of demonic scents. i'm not saying it's not possible; i'm just saying i don't know.

and how do you know you were demon possessed?

AUG 1990 I was not a christian, and I didn't like them much.
After years of abuse by an insane mother and violent alcoholic father
who claimed to be christians turned me against them.
I turned to alcohol to drown my pain.
I was sitting in a car with a drinking buddy. I begin to smell
something burning, sulfer, rubber?. He smelled it too.
The next day I begin to have audio and visual hallunciations.
Voices begin to tell me I was a decendent of the jews and people
were going to kill me.
I drove to work to a part time job I worked at. All along the
road I saw people standing with knives grinning and the
voices telling me they are going to kill you.
My supervisor at home called me. She said her phone had rang
one time and something told her I was in trouble and she was
coming in to let me go home.
On the way home, a tremendous power fell on me. The lord was shielding
me from the two demons that had entered my body the previous day.
Another voice told me to call the christian people who tried to get me to go
to church. They were having a meeting at church, came and got me and
while driving me to church told me god told them I was possessed by two
demons.
There I repented of my sins. They baptized me. Then took me to a small room
and sat me in a chair. An elder member of the church came in, told me the
greatest praise to give god was to say hallelulla. Say it and don't stop she said.
After about 50 times , all of a sudden it felt like a mule kicked me in the chest.
I fell out the chair onto the floor. The demons spoke,"woman we could come out
of him and kill you". She screamed,"keep praising god!"
About 60 sec later it felt like a truck drove over my chest.My head flew back. The
first demon tore out of me. About a minute later, it felt like again a truck drove over
my chest. My head flew back and the second demon tore out of me. I thought I
was going to die, but a few seconds later I begin to speak in tounges. Out of his
mercy jesus sent the holy spirit into me. As each demon left , a horrible sulfer smell
followered. The elder lady yelled that I was going to live, for now he has the
holy spirit. They gave me a bible and took me home.
MY trial had just begin.

Honey, put me on a busload of kids and I can identify dozens of evil smells, from not realizing that it's time to start using the underarm stuff to the overuse of cheap perfume. Stinky teenagers are hardly unique.

These kids were antisocial, and for those who us who have worked with the antisocial, neglected hygine is an everyday observation. I've got a family member who plain doesn't give a damn if he's offensive or even repulsive to others. When we attended a family member's funeral, we put the windows down because we were choking on his stench. If a stench came off of the Columbine kids, it's not suprising to me. If they thought so little of their fellow humans that they gunned them down, they likely didn't care if someone smelled them.

Other people have identical external influences as the Columbine and Virginia Tech murderers and they don't go out and assassinate people. I don't think childhood, medication, environment, bad taste in music, or Satan cause a human being to commit atrocities, but rather their own wickedness.

OK, let's deal with Satan. Right off, I do believe in the existance of Satan. But let's examine Satan's role in the scheme of things. Satan is a tempter. It's really easy to give the devil more than his due and hang the fruits of human wickedness on him. But humans can, have, and do resist temptation. Ultimately a person is responsible for the evil they choose to do. Just as the cheerleading squad is not the reason the team wins a game or loses, Satan can't force us to do evil.

The account of the fall of man isn't a tale of Satan forcing mankind to do evil, but rather Satan tempting mankind to do that which mankind finds appealling--to reject God's soverignty We are like Satan in that regard. We don't want to be under another's authority, even if that other is the One who created us. We want to be the masters of our universe. You can shift the blame for the fall on Satan, but Satan was only the tempter. He was detestable in his actions there, but real culpret was man. God is just. He wouldn't send innocents to hell who were little powerless Satan toys and who weren't capable of resistance. He sends them to hell for choosing to reject Him.

If God were to take Satan out of the equation this minute people would continue to go to hell because we don't end up there because of Satan, we end up there for rejecting God and cutting ourselves off from God. Hope doesn't procede from believing that there is a real devil behind this or anything else. It comes when we choose to return to the relationship that we were created to hold with God. It comes from accepting Christ as our savior.

After the demons were cast out of me at church,
the members gave me a bible and took me home.
I begin to flip through it. A passage in the book of
revelations begin to glow like a red stop light.
"Satan will cast some of you into prision, to be tried,

A friend of mine who I worked with at my full time job called
and I told him, shaking so bad I could barely talk, what was going on

They arrived at my house, put me shaking like a leaf into their car. A car
pulled up. It was one of the ladies from the church. Her eyes were blood shot
and her face was full or rage and anger. She got out of her car and yelled,"if
you ever speak of the book of revelations again, you will not be allowed in the

Remember when jesus told peter, satan get behind me. Satan plays with our
emotions. Yes we do have free choice. But today just like peter he filled this lady
full of so much rage and anger she did his bidding. Later she would call and
apologize. No problem, it wasn't you that day. It is a shame satan would use his
power for such evil.
At the mental instituation the first thing they did was draw blood. Attendants had to
hole me down, I was shaking so bad. A doctor came in and screamed", You saw
the end of the world, didn't you?. Later the shaking calmed down as they loaded me
with drugs,but I learned not to talk alot, for if I did other patients would go into rages
and had to be restrained. They told me I would have to stay 10 days or they would
get a court order and make me. The ten days was pure hell. I met another christian
going through the same thing. When they released me on the 10 day I saw him
leaving too. We waved at each other.

But instead of people crying out for god to have mercy,

IIRC the reason for Mars warming up is due to dust storms. The dust that makes up the Martian soil tends to reflect a lot of the Sun's light (and hence heat). But during times of high dust storm activity, the dust no longer reflects as much light and heat away from the planet and thus the Martian atmosphere absorbs more of the heat and warms up. Probably not the most elegant of explanations.

April 26, 1986 the russian scientists decieded to do an expiernment
at the chernobyl nuclear plant. They wanted to see how long the turbines
would run if power was cut off to the no.4 reactor
A series of errors were made. Pressure built up in the reactor
till it blew off the 100 ton concreet lid. Several clouds of radioactive
steam were released which swept over europe. Farmers had to slaughter
whole herds of livestock. The 211 nuclear rods begin to melt and caught fire.
Several more explosions sent parts of buring nuclear material into the air.
The graphite insulation caught fire. Once graphite catches fire, it is almost
impossible to put out.
Brave pilots dropped water on the burning reactor and firefighters came from
far and near. People in the town climed up on roof tops and gathered by a bridge
to watch. But this was no ordinary fire. This was a nuclear fire. They all recieved a
lethal dose of radiation.
Then the rains came. It rained steadly for 10 days which put the ractor fire out, but
swept huge amounts of radiation into the grown which entred the ground water and
entered the wells and streams entering the drinking water. Many people died from
drinking the radioactive water.
Wormwood is a bitter herb used in russia in herbal remedies. Its dark green oil
would turn peoples tounges black. People begin to call the herb wormwood by a
different name chernobyl. The chernobyl nuclear plant was named after the field of
wormwood it was built upon.
This castostrophic event was fortold in the book of revelations.

The third angel angel sounded. A star fell burning like a lamp(reactor on fire)
The name of the star is wormwood. It fell on the fountains of water(radioactivity)
and they became wormwood (radioactive) and the water was made bitter(radioactive)
and people died from drinking the water. (radioactive)

I thought it said that a 3rd of the water became bitter. I'm pretty sure that's not the case. And I don't think many people died from drinking radioactive water. The people who died mostly died from inhaling radioactive particles.

I believe the final death toll was less than 30 from acute radiation posioning, and about 80 deaths from long-term cancer.

Any deaths are tragic, but it doesn't sound much like the 3rd trump to me. You'd think the apocalypse would be more noticable.

I truly don't understand this "End times" obsession. Why would the end times be any different than the "next to the last times" or "somewhere in the distant future way far away times" or the "last Tuesday past" times when it comes to what the body of Christ should be doing for as long as we're alive on earth?

When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's people didn't
lock their doors at night and slept with windows up.
During holloween, the children would go out to trick or
treat alone. Parents never went with you.
Now we are afraid. We work and live behind locked doors.
Security guards have to walk us to our cars. With all the modern
technology making life easier, people should be more kind and loving.
Instead we have road rage, amber alerts, workplace shootings, school
shootings and horrible crimes sweeping our planet. Some say it is just

I turned to the bible. In the book of jobe god asks satan, where has he been.
To and fro back and forth he says to the earth. Notice he had freedom to travel.
In the book of revelations, that freedom is taken away. "Woe to the inhabitants
of the earth, for satan has been cast down to you having great anger, for he knows
his time is short". I listened to a christian call in on a radio talk show and say god
gave him a vision of satan being cast out on earth. I agree with him. Satan has been
cast down. This is why so much evil is going on now.
When the prophets came to jesus and asked, what will be a sign of your coming
and the end of the age?,jesus replied"as in the days of noah, so will be the coming
of the son of man". When noah entered the ark , the whole world was filled with
violence.
Then in 1997 this bright new comet (THE HALE BOPP) appears in the sky. Scientists
traced the path of this comet, using computers, and it came by here once before,
durning the days of noah. So the same things that happened durning noah's days
are happening now, and our lord says he will come during that time.
Now if things aren't bad enough with satan cast down, the angels are pouring
out god's judgement upon the earth. Killer tornados, earthquakes, hurricanes and
volicanos almost every week being reported.
If you haven't accepted the lord jesus as your savior, this might be your last chance,
FOR THE BOOK HAS BEEN OPENED, THE SEAL HAS BEEN BROKEN, AND THE
FINAL CHAPTER IS BEING READ.

We don't know exactly WHERE AIDS started. It's a mistake, however, as well as a leap in logic to assume a connection between African primates and African homosexuals. Do you have a source for your claim? :hrm: It appears at the moment to be hearsay, which is all I think it is. One anecdote about an irresponsible scientist pumping primates full of drugs and then releasing them, which causes people to speculate that one of them may have mutated into the AIDS virus...? Many scientists do believe the virus may have originated in Africa. Some think it may have originated in primates. But we'd need to find good evidence that a) any doctor ever released monkeys into the wild after pumping them full of drugs and b) any of those drugs had the potency to mutate into AIDS.

I mean, hey, we might be something on here. Isolate the drug that mutated, and we've prettymuch got the means to figure out the cure. :ahem: It's too bad that the theory seems to be more fiction than fact.

demons.
There I repented of my sins. They baptized me. Then took me to a small room
and sat me in a chair. An elder member of the church came in, told me the
greatest praise to give god was to say hallelulla. Say it and don't stop she said.
After about 50 times , all of a sudden it felt like a mule kicked me in the chest.
I fell out the chair onto the floor. The demons spoke,"woman we could come out
of him and kill you". She screamed,"keep praising god!"
About 60 sec later it felt like a truck drove over my chest.My head flew back. The
first demon tore out of me. About a minute later, it felt like again a truck drove over
my chest. My head flew back and the second demon tore out of me. I thought I
was going to die, but a few seconds later I begin to speak in tounges. Out of his
mercy jesus sent the holy spirit into me. As each demon left , a horrible sulfer smell
followered. The elder lady yelled that I was going to live, for now he has the
holy spirit. They gave me a bible and took me home.

No, I think the Enlightenment was the sixth trumpet. As far as I am concerned, and like Our late Holy Father, JPII, we're already in Revelation 13. The modern minor apostasy is fully depraved, the utter false prophet. In a nutshell, here's how I see the trumpets:

And as Zguy noted, the flu pandemic following WWI had very, very similar problems, and it spread out as soldiers started coming home.

The thing that's particularly bothersome about AIDS is that, unlike a plague or a flu, it's preventable. Barring the catching and eating of animals who you do not know have an infection which will spread to you, it's preventable. Up to a point. In certain areas of the world, though, we have gone far past that point. Africa, right now, is far past that point. When children are born into HIV-infected families, it means a bleak future if nobody reaches out to help.

That's the thing about alarmist talk. We can sit around warning and dooming and glooming all we want to. What does it help? Does it help those ravaged by disease? Those torn apart by war? Well, I guess, for me, the most important way for a person to be protected is not physically but spiritually. I believe it is the spiritual essence that drives history. Hence, to be "sealed in the forehead" speaks to me of being protected in one's intellect from being "harmed", that is, to be led into error. And since I am Catholic, we believe that one cannot have the fullness of protection from being harmed spiritually in one's intellect except to be a faithful Catholic. hence, I view the trumpets punctuated spiritual attacks on the sources of Divine Truth. From that viewpoint, Catholicism would delineate these sources from top to bottom as follows:

I. The Trinity and Incarnation
II. the Pope
III. the General Apostolic Succession and Oral Tradition
IV. The Written Tradition (Scripture)
V. Reason

So my analysis basically says that the devil has been attacking these sources from top to bottom. So in the first trumpet, we have the general intial heresies that attack either the Trinity or Incarnation but still remain in some sense "Chrisitan". The second Trumpet is then Islam, which, being like a mountain (the Catholic Church is seen as a great spiritual mountain kingdom in Daniel 2), is a great spiritual kingdom that is intrinsically based on its total refutation of the Trinity and Incarnation, and, if that were not bad enough, the imposition of an extra-Christological Revelation, namely, the supposed prophet, Muhammed.

The next trumpet with its bitterness I see as the hatred and betrayal of the Great Schism, which moves down to attack the Pope.

The darkness of the luminaries in the fourth trumpet I see as the scandal of the Middle Age clergy that the devil sows to cause the world to lose trust even in the general sense of Apostolic succesion, even as Christ says in Matthews apocalypse, "and then many shall be scandalized, and hate and betray, and many false prophets shall arise...".

Hence, that scandal truly paved the way for the fifth trumpet, the Protestant Rebellion, which, as mentioned, rejected not only the pope's authority but even the general sense of Apostolic Tradition and Succession, retaining only Scripture. And since, because of their heresy, the Protestants lost 5 sacraments, such great loss of supernatural life caused them to almost die, and be "tortured for five months", for since they retain only two Sacraments, Baptism and Marriage, they just barely cling on to supernatural life, and it makes it that they wish they didn't have to strive to stay alive spiritually.

In the sixth trumpet, with the Enlightenment, a "third" of humanity dies spiritually, for the deists and rationalists stripped religion of its supernatural essence and brought it down merely to the natural level, denying both Divine Intervention (assistance of the will) and Divine Revelation (assistance of the intellect). hence, the death is not literal physical but supernatural. And the symbolism of the number "myriads of myriads", or, "2 ten thousands of ten thousands" I personally see as, with 2 a symbol of heresy (five loaves, two fish, heresy leaves one with only 2 sacraments) and remembering that 10 can be symbol of the "world" we have heresies [2] of the world [10] pluralified [1000] followed by pure worldliness [10] pluralified [1000] (2 X 10 X 1000 X 10 X 1000 ).
