I can put up the picture of my holding him if anyone wants to know what he looks like.

(And if I really want to annoy some friends on here also.)

You aren't actually going to change the poor little fella's name to one of those options, are you?

(Though the name "Who's Toby?" sounds pretty cool...)

Toby or not Toby, that is the question.

"DJ, did you throw up on the floor again? Bad DJ! Well, at least you did it on the linoleum..."

JB! You should be ashamed! Trying to give a poor little dog a complex!

Toby's already owned by JPH; if he doesn't have some sort of complex yet, nothing I can do has the power to bring one about. :rasberry:

Okay, ya got a point there. but why make the poor little fella's life any worse?

Haven't you ever read "Blessed are the merciful"?

Why not give him your old name? You aren't using it any more.

You know, when I first read that, I wondered where I'd heard that before.

Took me a few seconds to remember.

Brutus all the way, baby. It's a kickaft name (and the name of my grandparent's old dog that died in 1988)

This is a closer race than some Platinum Screwball threads.

You should name him, "who". You and yours can have hours of free, Abbot & Costello inspired fun.

Or, even better, name him " Lyme Disease Vector", you won't have to deal with all but the most determined visistors.

I'm personally quite partial to the idea of giving Toby your old name.

Mix of poodle and pomeranian. Which means that while he doesn't shed, his hair isn't puffly, but straight.

You should name him, "who". You and yours can have hours of free, Abbot & Costello inspired fun.

Um...at this stage in his life, not really....

"Who's asleep."
"Who's eating."
"Who's asking for a belly rub."

And that's about it.... :hehe:

Hm...and then having him write articles under it, maybe?

The winner is.....

Gummy. Although "Black Death" (my personal fave) did have the most votes, I just got back from the vet; they had to remove all of Toby's teeth. So "Gummy" it is.

Heh... it would make something like "Fang" all the more ironic... :hehe:

 I added that one because for a while of late, Toby had a single lower canine tooth that jutted out from his mouth. It fell out about a month ago.

For all who do know who Toby is, I thought I'd post some news. The little guy hadn't been doing too well of late; he began having some respiratory problems two weeks ago, and last week we brought him to the vet and the x-rays showed he had a lot of fluid around his heart and lungs. Some medication was prescribed and his weight went down from 10.4 lbs to 9.2, apparenly all fluid. The newer x-ray shows he has a slightly enlarged heart -- he'll now stay on his meds and have restricted exercise. But he's now breathing easier and showing signs of the old spark again.

With him at 16 years old (80 human years, according to the vet's chart for small dogs) , I'm not really complaining....his health has been excellent for his age and I don't expect we'll dodge bullets like these forever. Still, nice to see him up and about as usual again, even if he has become more finicky than Morris with his food.

Good to hear that.

Wow...only 80 human years? My cat's almost 120 human years (17 in cat years). But come to think of it, she HAS become pretty finicky with her food...(which is unfortunate, because the only food she'll eat costs $.50 a can, and it's a darn small can!)...

Hmm...
