Inside the Void

Long story short, this be my little home away from home for me to rant and rave on various things, including:

-Books (I'm a bit of a bookworm)
-Cooking (I'm also one heckuva cook)
-Games (Board, Card, Video, Pen-N-Paper, etc. I like 'em all)
-Various Shenanigans in my life (that I don't mind the rest of the Interwebz finding out, anyway...)

  1. CV's Character Sheets: Bionic Ice (M&M)

Heya, Everyone... For those of you who don't know, I'm a huge Tabletop RPGs (specifically Mutants & Masterminds) fan. At times I'll randomly post character sheets that I've made and explain the rhyme or reason (if any) behind that character.

Today, I present Bionic Ice. I played Champions Online for a bit, and this was the first character I made. I was so proud of him that I decided to put him in Mutants & Masterminds format.

  2. Chaotic Void's Made-up Fallacies 1: Argumentum ad Profitum

Here's Rant #1 on a potential series on various crap arguments I come across. Today, I'm looking at "Argumentum ad Profitum."

First off... what do I mean by "Argumentum ad Profitum"?

Basically, it's a variant of Argumentum ad Hominem that says we shouldn't trust a source of information because they stand to make a profit off of what they're espousing. Here are some real examples of this fallacy in practice:

    -"Of course Scientists ...

  3. Homemade Bacon

Ah, bacon... a delicious food. Goes great on sandwiches, Liver, beside eggs, wrapped around another meat, or even on it's own. About a couple weeks ago, my brother showed me a recipe for homemade bacon that he found in a magazine, so I copied it down and decided to try it at home.

    Here's the basic ingredients:
-Pork Loin or Pork Butt (No, your mother wasn't kidding when she said Bacon is made from the part of the pig where the poop comes out). Go for Loin if you want a leaner ...

  4. Beef Jerky, Round 2!

So I made Beef Jerky again the other day... and boy did it turn out good! This time around, I used about eight pounds of roast and sliced it much thicker. I also cooked it longer at a lower temperature than before.

  5. Some Reflections on Relationships

"I love them enough to die for them."

That's a phrase that you hear frequently when someone's talking about their significant other (especially those young mushy couples). Many even consider being able to say this phrase with sincerity to be evidence that you're ready to marry that person. Truth be told, it's not a bad statement. Actually it's in line with what Paul tells us in Ephesians 5:21-33.
