When a person reads the Bible, they can be clued in on some of the underlying subtext by the words used in a text. When looking for instances of honor and shame in the New Testament, a reader can (at least in part) sometimes recognize them by the following terms (this list is not exhaustive either in the terms or the examples of them): ...

  2. Some Reflections on Relationships

"I love them enough to die for them."

That's a phrase that you hear frequently when someone's talking about their significant other (especially those young mushy couples). Many even consider being able to say this phrase with sincerity to be evidence that you're ready to marry that person. Truth be told, it's not a bad statement. Actually it's in line with what Paul tells us in Ephesians 5:21-33.

The most obvious first impression I got was the graphical design, which is a stylistic cartoony style very reminiscent of World of Warcraft. I find this to be a refreshing change from Skyrim's photo realism. However, the character creation screen was a bit lacking. I'm not sure if this is just a limitation of the demo or what, but when it comes to hairstyles ...

  5. Beef Jerky- My first attempt

I don't know of any North American who hasn't heard of Jerky. It's basically meat- typically Beef, Pork, or Venison- that's been cut into strips and preserved via drying/smoking. It comes in a variety of flavors, too: Hickory, Spicy, Sweet, Sweet n Spicy, Buffalo, or just plain ol' Black Peppercorn. Unfortunately, it's at least $6 per fifty grams here in Canada. One day, I decided to say, "To Heck with that, I can make my own at home for much less than that." and resolved to do so. ...
