During the talk, Eberhard discusses his year-long experiment of attending church and asking Christians why they believe in God. The lecture is designed to give atheists an outline of how to dialogue with believers and deconvert them. I have to admit, it was very interesting to watch; Eberhard is a talented speaker, and it's good that he's trying to

  2. Megachurch - Too Big to Fail

Today I was reading an article about a megachurch which dismissed its pastor because of adultery. I believe the church size was about 5,000 members.

Why have all those murders happened? Because people took as true the reification of the lack of answer that the term God provides, Christians have murdered and hated other Christ-addicts Tha

  5. Blog Wars, or "Why don't Y'all Get a Thread'?

Okay, there are a couple problems here. I’ve already refuted a couple of these points and concede on a lot of the rest - but it doesn’t matter because the things I agree with don’t prove your argument. So, a quick recap and then I’ll tackle it point by point:

My thesis is that the idea that numerous, diverse cultures all coming to the exact same conclusion is irrational. If culture is a major defining factor of morality then we should see at least a few outliers coming to the conclusion ...
