of stepping on shore, and finding it heaven.
Of touching a hand, and finding it God's.
Of breathing new air, and finding it celestial.....
And then waking up in glory, and finding it Home."

Looking forward to meeting up with you, Mudgie. We'll sing together!

seem to be on my mind a lot lately. This is another one that I sang with my Dad, one of my Mom's favourites, especially after my brother took his own life.

Words are still as true today as they were all those years ago......

"Through It All" by Andre Crouch

I've had many tears and sorrows,
I've had questions for tomorrow,
there's been times I didn't know right from wrong.
But in every situation,
God gave blessed consolation,
that my trials come to only make me strong.

I've been studying the first epistle of Peter with my lady's Bible study group. Today, verses 17, 18 and 19 of chapter 1 really struck me:

17 If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves with reverent fear during the time of your stay on earth;

18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers,

19 but with precious blood, as of a lam

Wow! So much has happened since I last blogged in April!

We had a bit of spring ( I THINK it was in there somewhere between the snow and frost that lasted until the end of May......). The summer has been dry and hot and cool and dry. Mostly it has been dry. It is currently hot and, you guessed it, dry!

I hope the warmer weather lasts a bit into the autumn. I lament the days growing shorter and I just know that winter is right around the corner. The longer we can hold winter at b ...More Read More

I received my Mother's china today. It is Foley's "Ming Rose". Here is a picture of what it looks like:

My Mother's china will be 69 years old come this September. That would have been my parent's 69th anniversary. I haven't unpacked it yet, but there is either a full 8 place setting, or a 12 place setting, (I can't remember how many place settings there are...... ...More Read More

.....that my Mom died.

Where does the time go? Where do our days fly off to?

How can so much time go by without the rock that was my Mother, in my life? Time gone hardly noticed in the day to day things!

Thank you, Lord, for my Mom and Dad. Thank you for the blessings they were to me and my siblings and all who knew them.

Thank you for the opportunity to come together with long-unseen family members, even though the reason for coming together was a memorial service. What joy t ...More Read More

  #20 New September 2nd 2008 07:08 PM
In 2001, I wrote a letter to my sister, who was at a retreat, and part of the program was for her family and friends to write letters to her about how we felt about her.

This isn't about that letter.

My Mom's birthday was May 14th, and often fell on or near Mother's Day. 2 weeks ago, while attending Mom's memorial service, my sister gave me a box of things that she had brought with her, things that Mom had intended for me to have.

One of those items was a journal that I had given Mom ...More Read More

My Mom passed away a month ago today. How incredible it seems that it is 4 weeks already! It feels, some days, like it was yesterday. She would have turned 89 in May. I will miss her.

Her death was not totally unexpected. When she went into the hospital for this surgery, I began to prepare myself for the possibility that she would not survive. In fact, when I saw her last fall, I began to prepare myself for the possibility that I would not see her again in this life. She was visibly u ...More Read More
