Here's a little question I've been struggling with lately: what exactly are the essential Christian doctrines? Some Christians favor the old slogan: "In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity." But the actual essentials can be extremely difficult to agree upon. If you haven't heard about Conservapedia and their "Conservative Bible Project," then you really should check it out. Their website is here. Plenty of people have blogged about it, so I'll make this relatively short.

So Dan Brown's newest book is out...yippee. I would like to start out by saying that I read and enjoyed The DaVinci Code. I liked Angels & Demons better, and neither book was amazing. They were just entertaining to me. Never once did I confuse them with actual religious scholarship, but neither was I horrified by their unorthodox nature.

My name is Cory Howell; I am a full-time dad to an almost three year old daughter, and a church musician. I study theology at an amateur level, and it's one of my great passions.
