That's right..sort of! What was thought to be a three-centimeter nodule was actually some free-standing thyroid material. This is the second one that the ENT has seen in his eight years of practice. They, of course, removed it. However, there was a small nodule on my thyroid. So the ENT removed it as well.... along with 40% of my thyroid. The was no cancer found in either biopsy.

Why they had to take so much with that small nodule, I really don't know. But the remaining 60% may very w ...More Read More

Well, tomorrow I will be having someone slit my throat. And I’ll have to pay over a thousand bucks to have him do it. Let me explain.

I had a lump on the left side of my neck that I needed to have checked by an ENT. They did an MRI on my neck, and it turned out to be just some fatty tissue- Nothing serious, right?

Then I get a call from the ENT himself to set up another appointment with him. I was a little puzzled, but I went to see him. He had shown me the MRI before, but he only focused ...More Read More

Panic tends to run rampant when something like the Swine Flu comes around. Actually, the risk groups aren't much different than with any flu. Please understand that I am concerned about people being hospitalized and can even die from it, but sometimes the fear of something that is potentially dangerous can be over-hyped. People that I know who would normally not wash their hands very often are now turning obsessive-compulsive by splattering their hands and arms up to the elbow with hand sanitiz ...More Read More

  #186 New October 2nd 2009 04:14 PM
So many times we look at what's going on around us, and find that it has been weighed in the balance and come up wanting. Often we are fraught with anxiety- especially when our reality check has bounced.

Many of us have heard the phrase "The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray.", but have no idea of its exact origin. While this quotation has been given as credit to others, the original was from Robert Burns, known as "The Bard of Scotland". It's from an interesting poem called "T ...More Read More

Y'know, it really does bother me that our once-great, Christian nation just keeps sliding in deeper into the much and the mire of Godlessness, self-righteousness, and narcissism. While it means that we're getting ever so closer to Jesus' return in all His glory, which I'm quite excited about, I can't help but lament like Jeremiah. I mourn for what this country used to be: safe enough, in my memory, to leave your house without locking your front door; respect for the elderly; concern for the sic ...More Read More

Last Saturday, The mortal remains of the mother of a good friend of ours was laid to rest. She died that previous Wednesday...Her birthday would have been that Sunday...She would have been eighty years old. Lilly was also a friend...My wife used to call her to get the latest gossip from the church we used to go to. Jokingly, she asked who she would talk to now that Lilly is gone. Lilly would have laughed at that.

My parents are getting on in years, too. Dad's doing better, but both Mom and ...More Read More

I haven't blogged for a while, so I thought I would write one.

Let's see....

I'm reading a novel- the first actual novel that I've read in years: Ivanhoe by sir Walter Scott. I've managed to keep at it without setting it down somewhere and stop reading it(, but not intentionally. )

Chinese Family Camp sure was different this year- mainly as to location: Amish Acres! It really was a good time, but old habits, from the place we used to go, are hard to break. Everybody kept saying ...More Read More

In case you were lost in a jungle or hiding out in a cave somewhere, you are probably knowledgeable about our President had declared June as "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month." Well, a few blogs back, I mentioned that the Mayan Calendar ends on December 21, 2012. That's approximately three-and-a-half years from now. Could that date be a point called "mid-tribulation"? That could be our scheduled take-out date. Or, if you are "Pre-Trib", then this month would be a great time t ...More Read More

Well, General Motors has a potential buyer for it's Hummer Division: A Chinese company called "Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co. of China"! The big bailout for American car manufacturers looks like a big yard sale. Meanwhile, our country is being sold up the creek by a president that's ready to set up his own booth. So, what did anyone expect? I didn't vote for him!

Meanwhile, the massive moral decay that is going on in our country is raising a stink to High Heaven. God knows ...More Read More

Well, the "Politically Correct" in Great Britain have struck again- pushing their immorality onto Christians who know that God is "Politically Uncorrect"! Paste this link into your browser window:
http://www.onenewsnow.com/Legal/Default.aspx?id=517288

And they're trying to push themselves on Christians here in the United States. Get after your Legislators to not endorse such stuff in Congress. I don't hate these people, but I don't like the idea of "thought police" trying to convince us th ...More Read More
