    A Glory Seed Devotional
Speak Lord and I will listen…

Anyone who has even aquatinted themselves with the Old Testament Prophets know firsthand when they prophesied there were times God did not stumble over words but got right to the point. The Book of Isaiah contains such prophecies sometimes the words of God were poetic and other times not so poetic. While many of the prophecies of the Old Testament have the theme of gloom and doom for those who do not side themselves with God there are spread out within the Old Testament diamonds in the rough.

One such diamond well worth digging up and then become a Jeweler turning it into a beautiful diamond is found in chapter 51 of Isaiah. It speaks of repentance. It speaks of life not death. It speaks of good news not bad news. It speaks of looking at ourselves in the mirror and then looking into the beauty of an morning sunrise, or an evening sunset, or looking at a single tree, or a bird in flight, or watching a thunderstorm come then go and seeing the face of God. It speaks of God’s word in us remembering that Jesus is God’s ultimate word. It speaks of the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit watching over us. It speaks of the promise that you and I are people of God, and it speaks of news that cannot get any better than that.

“He who is bowed down shall speedily be released; he shall not die and go down to the pit, neither shall his bread be lacking. I am the LORD your God, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the LORD of hosts is his name. And I have put my words in your mouth and covered you in the shadow of my hand, establishing the heavens and laying the foundations of the earth, and saying to Zion, 'You are my people.” (Isaiah 51:14-16 ESV)

    Were you listening?

    Grace and PEACE!
