    A Glory Seed Devotional
    Golden Nuggets from the Psalms…

“I bless GOD every chance I get; my lungs expand with his praise.” (Psalms 34:1 MSG)

The other day while sitting at the 1¾ mile bench (I call it) on the Fort Gratiot Township Green Trail, I saw something I’ve never seen before. And even though the experience lasted only seconds, it will be with me for the rest of my life. Thinking back on it this morning it was one of those nudges from God I get from time to time (maybe this is your nudge), “Gary, pay attention I am going to change your life.” And God did just what he said he was going to do.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a bike rider turn the corner and immediately I went back to reading. As he came closer, I gave him another quick glance then again went back to reading. When he was getting ready to pass by me I looked up and told him good morning and he said good morning back to me and I stuck my nose back into the bible. Almost immediately it as if I heard a silent word shout, “Look!” And I looked up just in time to see an oxygen bottle in a basket on the back of his bike.

A man riding a bike using oxygen may not seem like a big thing to you but for me that “Ah Ha” moment has left a lasting imprint on my life. While it may not be a huge stomping imprint, it is one of those imprints that will silently remind me when the going gets rough and people think you can’t the faithful keep going not on their own strength but on God’s strength.

And when we keep going not under our own strength but God’s strength we are truly blessing God and at the same time we are a blessing. In the past when I passed someone walking on the Trail I felt a little envious because I always loved to walk but because of my two artificial hips I am unable to therefore I ride a bike but from this point on I’ll never be envious again. Blessing and praising God is more about what we do with our lives rather than what we do with our lips!

Isn’t it amazing how God communicates with us?

    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary

God, make a fresh start in me,
Shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
    (Psalms 51:10 MSG)
