    A Glory Seed Devotional
    I walk in the Lord’s presence…

Do you know what it means when the sun sets in the evening?

Does it mean the day is done? Yes, it does but what else does it mean?

Does it mean it’s time to put the day aside and rest? Yes, it does but what else does it mean?

Does it mean the earth is turning on its axis? Yes, it does but what else does it mean?

Does it mean the curtain has closed on one portion of our lives? Yes, it does but what else does it mean?

When the sun sets it means all the above but it also means that by divine design at its appointed time it will rise in east just as it set in the west. Perhaps right now you find yourself walking in the darkness of the unknown and daybreak seems so far off. There’s a scene in the Jules Verne movie titled “Journey to the Center of the Earth” where the expedition discovers when they turn their lighting devices off there’s a brighter natural light in the darkness of the inner earth.

While the movie is fictional, the idea that there is light in the darkness is real because even when the sun sets or is blocked by some other means the Light of Jesus still shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot extinguish it! In fact Jesus’ Light shines brighter than sun could ever. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.” (Genesis 1:1-3 NLT)

If you thought those verses applied only to the sun you’d be only partially right because they also apply to the SON! “Let my soul be at rest again, for the LORD has been good to me. He has saved me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. And so I walk in the LORD's presence as I live here on earth!”
    (Psalms 116:7-9 NLT)

    Grace and PEACE!

God, make a fresh start in me,
Shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
    (Psalms 51:10 MSG)
