A Glory Seed Devotional
Voices…
“Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with My victorious right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 NLT)
There can be little doubt that this is an election year because the signs are everywhere from front yards to newspapers to magazines to radios to television. We find ourselves choosing up sides and presenting and defending our plans to help resolve the political and social issues our country faces. Probably at no other time is our precious gift of freedom more notable then when we stand in the voting booth and cast our ballot.
For many the political process is scary because question abound. Who is telling the truth? Who has the best plan? Why do the political opponents attack each other? What will happen to me? What will happen to my family? What will happen to my employer? What are they really talking about? Do they really have my best interest at heart or their own? And many are left wondering whose voice should they listen to.
While I cannot speak for everyone I can speak only for myself and as Election Day approaches I am listening to all the voices but I am as well not only listening to the voice of God but at the same time asking for the insight and wisdom to make the right choice. There are those who say we should keep religion out of government and as well we should but while keeping religion out of government we should guard against keeping God out. When we keep God not only out of government but out of our lives as well, the only government we’ll have is a government of anarchy and lives to go along with it.
“The fundamental basis of this nation's law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teaching we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. I don't think we emphasize that enough these days. If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally end up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in the right for anybody except the state.” Harry S. Truman
Some see the political arena much like a wrestling arena I see it as a place where freedom rings the loudest, where we choose and establish the future not just for our great nation but the future lives of our great nations citizens. We may have a two (or more) Party System but we are one nation under God, "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Grace and PEACE!

He has saved me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
And so I walk in the LORD's presence as I live here on earth!
(Psalms 116:8-9 NLT)
