A tiny town in SW Kansas defied the ACLU this past week.

Hugoton, KS schools superintendant Mark Crawford allowed Creationist to speak to the public schools students about dinosaurs.

The ACLU got wind of it and tried to prevent it, but were ignored.

Crawford said he was obligated to set a good example to the students about how to "handle a bully" referring to the ACLU.
Crawford said he was obligated to set a good example to the students about how to "handle a bully" referring to the ACLU.

http://www.gctelegram.com/news/web-H...mblies-4-24-13

around Kansas, online message boards, like the KAKE television site (Wichita ABC affiliate), tjonline of the Topeka Capital Journal for example, provided space for the anti-Creationists to vent their outrage.

I can't find an actual transcript of the presentations, but Crawford insists no creationism or Bible talk took place, but Miles represents the Creationist website 'Creation Truth Foundation', which means some folks think children should not be exposed to him.

From what I have been able to find so far, all he shared was general dinosaur information, nothing that contradicts the government approved science textbooks. (but sometimes anti-Creationists don't think a Creationist could possibly be qualified to say the same thing an approved textbook says)

This is the first Kansas controversy I can think of since last year's Buhler, KS dispute (another tiny speck of a town founded by Mennonites , and therefore had an historically accurate Christian Cross on their city seal and sign, like Las Cruces, NM) ....Buhler caved in to the ACLU and changted their sign/seal.

but this time , in Hugoton, the ACLU was ignored. They got DISSED.

Hugoton said something like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jvk7faxsxkQ
