First, a quick background for those of you that don't know the history behind this ...

While researching mudcracks in Grand Canyon, I came across this article from icr:

I would greatly appreciate it if I could get some comments on this one. Could the mudcracks in Grand Canyon have been formed underwater (syneresis cracks)? Could they have been formed when the weight of overlying sediments "squeezed" the water out from the underlying sediments?

If you believe in the theory of evolution, you should not have any problem with global warning because
1) this has happened before - isn't it that the ice age passed due to global warming
2) global warming can bring good thing - because of global warming human evolve well (i guess)

I like these discoveries because it I see it as a benefit to creationism.
I see all water "mammals" as post flood adaptations to a empty sea , relative, after the flood.
They show details in their bodies of a previous anatomical life and this is rare in creatures. They really did change to a sea life from a land one.
Creationism should embrace water mammels as post flood adaptations and not from a pre flood world.

It's just a theory (hypothesis) in the works. But often I hear the question, were there dinosaurs on the ark? The answer from YEC's is "yes," to which I would agree as a YEC and biblical exegete, but I would point out that not all of them needed to be, and it's my suspicion most of them were not.
How does this work with the text? Couple of ways.
1) there is no clear understanding of the biblical term "kinds." It could refer to what we call in modern animal taxonomy, "families," but then...

Have you ever noticed that evolutionists employ pictures? In debate forums, they commonly affix avatars to their personal profiles. They also present pictures of fossils and (very creative) images of what they imagine things looked like.
But... this cannot be reconciled with the tenet which contents that it is inherently impossible to recognize design. If nobody could tell a picture from a bunch of random markings, there would be no point in employing images.

Over the last few weeks and particularly over the last week, I have been getting the impression that some IDers (including YECs) think that their particular divine or personal revelation should be an admissible framework from which to argue their point in this natural science forum.
Thus, a claim or an assertion can be made without the need to provide any supporting argument and evidence.

I guess man wasn't so backwards back then. If he did survive, I have to wonder how they fixed the bleeding--today, we sew (although I wouldn't be surprised if glue was being used) blood vessels shut--what did they do? Did they sew, could the sew? Maybe their needles were made of wood splinters and did not survive the passage of time? Or did they just pack the wound with leaves and hope for the best?

hey all,
I don't mean this to sound stupid,but if evolutionary theory is true, how come we're not more advanced? I've seen a cockroach with an exoskeleton that could withstand the equivalent of a car dropped on it that runs the equivalent of 200+ miles an hour across my carpet.
How come we're not descendents of this much more 'evolved' animal? If we're just a result of the most survivable traits, why mammals? They're relatively fragile in the grand scheme of things.

Is there any work now on the feasibility of life based on an element other than carbon? Silicon-based life is of course the sci-fi staple but I thought I heard it was pretty unlikely. Hugh Ross once alluded to studies on the possibility of boron based life but I don't know what became of that.

I'm hoping some of our friends who propose ID could help me out here. It seems to me ID is basically the hypothesis that the entire universe is designed by an intelligence external to or separate from the universe. Is that right so far?
The evidence used to support this view seems to be of the sort 'Look at this beautiful/complex thing. Beautiful/complex things in the human world are usually designed. Therefore the universe looks like it is designed.' Is that right?

So Pat Robertson seem to think that the Haiti earthquake was an act of God. Many others seem to think it was due to natural causes.
Hmmm, God or natural causes? Who are we gonna call? Why, the Discovery Institute of course. They are skilled at telling design causation from natural causation.
Could they be missing a big opportunity to make a splash here?

As I had indicated in one of my posts in John Martin’s Geo-centrism II thread, one of the reasons I engage John is because his unique take on the universe does get us into some very interesting astronomical science. I enjoy learning, and teaching, and the routes John takes to establish his view are roads less traveled. They provide some interesting opportunities to learn. There are at least two aspects to ID. One is using complexity as evidence for ID. The other is using ID as an explanatory system in the same sense that any scientific theory, including ToE is an explanatory system.

The following is addressed more to IDers who are YEC perhaps**, than to other IDers. It is not addressed to those IDers who have what I think is a more reasoned and nuanced approach to the notion of an ID and its relationship to the universe - for example, but not necessarily restricted to TEs.
ID is a proposition based on an analogy:-
1. We observe that humans design then make things.
2. We observe that humans are intelligent.
