I'm curious to know how you would define the term "Holocaust." Would you say that only Jews were victims of the Holocaust or would include others, such as homosexuals, Gypsies (Roma and Sinti), Slavs, and Blacks? On several different occasions I have seen Erwin Rommel depicted as being mostly ignorant of the crimes committed by the Nazis and later coming to oppose the Hitler near the end of the war. Now, on the one side he was reported to have known about the plot to kill Hitler and done nothing but on the other part of me has to wonder if someone of his rank could truly not know what was going on and if the popular depiction of him has as much to do with what we want to see as with anything else.

Apparently WW2 was our fault and if it weren't for that dumb Mr Churchill, the Holocaust would never have happened. My obsession is Medieval History, especially it's military aspects. The Hundred Years War is a prime example of Medieval warfare at its best. A favorite pastime of mine has been historic whatif's Creating or considering timelines where a single historical result went differently than it did in our history. There are a number of websites that are actually devoted to this and I've found that to do it well requires a detailed knowledge of all the history of the time period. It becomes in many ways an interesting way of examining the actual history.

I watched the movie 300 last night. There is a scene where the King explains to a hunch-backed Spartan why he cannot fight with them.
