  • Once more, the Amazing Rando

So, I realized it had been seven years (!) since I last posted on Tweb. What happened to the place? Seems a bit stripped-down since last I visited.

Anyway, some highlights. Since last posting here, I've had three kids:
    Rob + kids.jpg

gotten my Ph.D. in theology and ethics, with a dissertation entitled "Personalism and Human Dignity in the Struggle for Justice in 20th Century America: Dorothy Day, Martin Luther King, Jr, and Cardinal Joseph Bernardin"

had my first book published- http://www.amazon.com/Consistently-P...5089433&sr=8-1

and am now a part-time assistant professor here- http://www.reseminary.edu/

and serve on the board of a non-profit called the Consistent Life Network- http://www.consistentlifenetwork.org/

How about you all? You oldtimers who remember me- what've you been up to in the last seven years?

You were well before my time but upon browsing through your book on Amazon, it's interesting that I myself am moving in the same sort of direction (heavily leaning pacifist based on the early church's beliefs).
"I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill

! Tweb crashed (and the backup crashed) in 2013, so we had to start over. A lot of the special stuff was hacks written by :cirisme:, who didn't have the time or inclination any more to recreate everything.
Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. – St. John Chrysostom

I can't say I remember you from way back before the Great TWeb Crash of 2013 (the reason the forum looks so stripped down, as you put it). We must have frequented different parts of the forum.

Since you last posted here, I both entered and finished college. And that makes me feel old.
        Don't call it a comeback. It's a riposte.

I went through that discipleship journey while attending a Mennonite seminary. They tend to do that to you.

Great to see some oldsters who remember me.

I probably won't be around too much- I don't have the time or inclination for hard core internet debates anymore, but I'll check in here occasionally. Be blessed!

Pearls is one of those things that apparently is difficult to set up in this permutation of Tweb. I miss them, too.

And it's good to see you! What cuties you have!

Hi, Rando. Although I wasn't here years ago when you were, it's still nice to have you back.

I have some vague recollection of someone with that name, but I am old and seven years is a long time.

Welcome, don't go away for seven years again.
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Welcome back. I hope you can find time to spend loitering with the rest of us.

(We're working on seeing what we can end up bringing back, but a lot of it was lost with the upgrade to version 4 ... boom wanted to keep it simple for updates, and then with the Big Crash in December 2013 we lost everything so didn't even have the old code to try get working again)

There was a brief moment when I wondered if Rando had changed his username to KingsGambit...
