Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotional's, 2016: Year of the Blessing
Do not think of yourself more lowly than you ought…

    Shalom!

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will give counsel—My eye is on you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding, and must be held in with bit and bridle or they will not come to you.” (Psalms 32:8-9 TLV)

In Romans 12:3 the apostle Paul puts us on the “straight and narrow” path of humility. “For through the grace given me, I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think—but to use sound judgment, as God has assigned to each person a measure of faith.”
    (Romans 12:3 TLV)

However, Paul never meant it to be used for “selling ourselves short” either. For many years I lived under the dark cloud of an inferiority complex. I somehow inherited it from my mom who felt inferior to most people. Romans 12:3 has been instrumental in lifting me out of it, yet even to this day feeling inferior continue to haunt me. Ten years or so ago while reading chapter 12 in Romans I found myself saying, “even though verse 3 tells me not to think of myself more highly than I should to it doesn’t tell me to think more lowly of myself than I should either.” Then last night while reading and praying the Psalms verses 8 and 9 of Psalms 32 added to the impact of Romans 12:3.

The Seed I want to plant in you this morning is while there may be people more knowledgeable than you, higher on the social ladder than you, more richer than you, stronger than you, more healthy than you, however NO ONE is more better than YOU! If you want to know how you are to think of yourself think about this – God, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe has already invested His life in yours and wants to “guide YOU, advise YOU, and watch over YOU.” So please, please don’t think of yourself as a mule or a horse. Think of yourself as the precious unrepeated miracle of God YOU ARE!

Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!
    GRACE and PEACE,
    Gary
