The UK tabloid the Daily Mail today (Sunday, Jan 8, 2017) ran the headline "Only stupid people don't want relationship with Russia': Donald Trump calls for closer ties with Putin in latest Twitter rant".
"In his latest Twitter rant, President-elect Donald Trump said on Saturday that 'only 'stupid' people or fools' would dismiss closer ties with Russia.
He added: 'We have enough problems without yet another one,' and said Russians would respect 'us far more' under his administration than they do with Barack Obama in the White House.
Trump remained unswayed after his classified briefing on an intelligence report that accused Moscow of meddling on his behalf in the election that catapulted him to power."

You might have missed a very important admission of the USA Intelligence Groups in their reports (proofs) of Russian incursions into the USA's cyber-space. It was easy to miss unless you were paying attention to the method of words used. It was a fleeting few words - the major proof of" Russian Hacking" is that USA Intelligence intercepted Russian communications. In short: the USA has hacked into Russian cyber-space and at a very high level if they are to be believed.
In the Daily Mail's report it says "Trump said closer ties [with Russia] will be one less problem for the US and perhaps both countries will work together to 'solve many of the great and pressing problems' of the world"
I agree with Trump in this regard. In the 19th century it was called the great game = It is easier to contain an enemy if you feign friendship.
