I go to court to fight the eviction - praying for the expected dismissal.

And I start making calls on my job hunt (follow up's to the resumes I've sent).

And back. Wasn't my idea of fun but I kept calm and I think did an almost good job. The landlady's daughter did show and she wasn't exactly pleasant - or on point much of the time.

Judge said he'd render a decision ASAP. Personally, I'm good with SOL (sooner or later - especially LATER).

        But there we are....

          Good luck

And a word of advice on the job hunt part if I may... If at all possible show up in person rather than call. They are more likely to remember you and it shows that you are very interested.

The calls are to request an interview - but I may try that with some of the closer ones.

And, of course, anything part time, retail, et al.

This week has largely been a waste due to the knee problems. I normally would have gone to Troy today for recorder class, to check mail and get some free printer time at the Colley Senior center - I did none of that and went to the doctor instead. Knee is better, but now I have to go check the mail tomorrow.

I dunno if the decision will be there - but the clerk I talked to weeks ago said this judge is good about getting things done quickly, so maybe.

Still haven't been to get the mail - plan to go tomorrow.

But I suspect had the landlord heard anything I'd have heard from them by now - I'm hoping that means there isn't a judgment yet.

And that it is a dismissal when it does come.

And that I get a job SOON

I went to Troy today and got it. I lost the case. I'm supposed to be out Thursday unless I appeal.

I don't have money for an appeal. Or a deposit. Or anything else.

What happens if you don't leave? How long would it take before they can have the cops forcibly evict you?

The only thing I had going for me was that they did not follow proper procedure - the judge ignored that and found for them.

I filed the appeal this morning - the absolute last day to do so - and begged to be allowed to post the bond by Friday. I don't have $500 - I have a little more than $130 until Friday. I got a couple donations through my GFM and MAYBE I will get the first unemployment. IF - which they probably won't - they allow me to post late, I may actually have it.

What it does is buy time - that's it. In theory, they could still show up Thursday. I don't think so - if I read it right, they would have to get a writ so that will take up more time.

But the short answer to your question, DE, is not long,

In other news, I talked to a friend today and he pointed out that I may now qualify for disability. That doesn't help short term, of course. I'm going to submit a case to Legal Services and see if I can get a lawyer that way. I'll get a doctor's appointment and talk to my doctor.

Disability claims take months - and no, up until last week, I didn't meet the criteria. So, it's a thing - it just not a thing that will help with the immediate problem.

                          Oh, I misread this.

I think they will have to get a writ - there's no appeal for that but generally, the sheriff's office makes arrangements and gives notice. Ten days if I'm lucky - probably not.

The second appeal was denied as moot. Translation, it's now just a matter of very little time until the writ comes and I have no place to live again.
