  • How Much More Do The Leftists Want?

    When is enough enough?

Americans on average spent more on taxes in 2016 than they did on food and clothing combined, according to data released this week by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The same data also shows that in three years—from 2013 to 2016—the average tax bill for Americans increased 41.13 percent.

In 2016, according to BLS, “consumer units” (which include families, financially independent individuals, and people living in a single household who share expenses) spent more on average on federal, state and local taxes ($10,489) than they did on food ($7,203) and clothing ($1,803) combined ($9,006).

But it is all going to good use: lining the pockets of politicians and keeping people on welfare, you Nazi!

They won't be happy until 100% of our income is seized by the government and distributed how they see fit.

Lining politicians pockets is the real purpose of taxes. They allow some to go for welfare just to make it look better.

          Not even then.

Haven't you noticed that even when they win the celebration (if any) is over in the blink of an eye and they're back to being enraged over virtually everything? They are perpetually upset and pissed off.

I'm always still in trouble again

Seems like they could use a good outlet for their rage. Might I recommend...uh...ah heck they'd no doubt find my music offensive in the extreme. It's almost a miracle that a sjw somewhere hasn't latched onto the offensive, degrading, and violent extreme metal as zer next crusade*.

To be fair people are making more money now than they were in 2013, so it makes sense that they amount they pay in taxes would increase. Have the income tax brackets changed much during that time?

I guess you've got to ask yourself whether you want things like:
                  - Military defense for your country
                  - Roads
                  - Police
                  - Fire services
                  - Schools
                  - Superannuation for retired people
                  - Food stamps for poor people
                  - Healthcare for those who can't afford it

It's not clear to my why you feel it's unreasonable for those things to cost less than food and clothing - that standard seems pretty arbitrary on your part. Demanding a long list of services for a tiny price seems silly.

The US has one of the lowest overall tax burdens in the OECD. Denmark is the happiest country in the world, and their total taxation is almost double that of the US. So I suggest you guys double your tax rates, get a lot more public services as a result, and become happier as a result.

I like how starlight attempts to tie taxes to happiness and flat ignores the fact people in North Korea pay all their money to the government and don't seem to be happier than the people of Denmark are. It's almost as if there's more to happiness than your tax rates.

What more do us leftists want? I'm not in the US so I don't want anything other than a friendly relationship with you guys.

If I lived in the US, I'd advocate strongly for a universal single-payer healthcare system of some kind, from cradle to grave. However actually introducing it into the US would be very difficult, yet I'd work towards it.
                        1. All the dams and bridges in the US should also be inspected and maintained properly.
                        2. I think there should be more money to the oversight committee on nuclear waste.
                        3. Carbon taxes in place to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy
                        4. The EPA should not be censored by the US President for using words like 'Climate Change'
                        5. Subsidies for companies producing batteries and solar panels
                        6. Cutting subsidies for companies producing natural gas and coal
                        7. More agricultural oversight, with tighter limits on antibiotics usage
                        8. The FDA should be strengthened
                        9. If the vaccination rate drops any further, mandatory vaccination schedules should be implemented
                        10. End the war on drugs
                        11. Upgrade the phone-system to discourage swatting by making phone-spoofing and geo-spoofing harder.
                        12. Severely roll back the authorities granted to the NSA.
                        13. Educating the politicians on what encryption means, and why you can't ban it (this applies to all of them)*

And a whole bunch of other stuff.

*Each politician should be given the t-shirt that has the RSA encryption algorithm written as two lines of PERL code. Good luck banning that.
