  • I need some help.

I am having trouble getting on one site on the Internet. A message comes up:

    This site can’t be reached
www.answering-islam.org took too long to respond.
Search Google for answering islam org
    ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

Do any of you know what is wrong and how to fix it?

    Thank you.

try the IP for now -- just use this instead of www.answering-islam.org

    78.47.104.146

Sometimes there are problems resolving the names.

I tried this and when I clicked on a link the answering-islam.org appeared again ... which would require you too replace that again with the IP.

Hopefully the issue will resolve itself.

This is what I got using 78.47.104.146

      Try:

      Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
      Running Windows Network Diagnostics
      ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

it was slow for me, but it came up after about 10 seconds.

Maybe there are some internet problems with their server, or in your area in particular.

We had a similar problem several months ago when someone did a DDOS attack on theologyweb. We had to install a filter to get back online till the traffic died down.

You might need to clear your cache, and delete any cookies.

Until you get it working you might try Answering Muslims run by Acts 17 Apologetics. David Wood wrote a number of articles for Answering Islam as well, so they have a lot of the same information. He's also got some pretty funny videos on youtube.

There is some pretty disturbing information on there, especially with regards to Mohammed's life.

I can access it from the library, two minutes away.

                Removing cookies did not help.

If you are using a laptop at home, try it somewhere else. If it works there, then it is your home wifi. Or try using a different browser, if you normally use firefox, try chrome, or vice versa.

Unless they maybe blocked your IP for some reason? But then trying it from another location would work.

                      Doesn't work.

Looks like I am going to have to pay someone to fix it.

                        Have you tried:
                        • Coming off Wi-fi
                        • pushing off the Restart button on the side of the hub, so that the three lights on the front of the the hub stop glowing
                        • pressing button on again
                        • waiting two minutes or so.
                        • looking at the three lights on the hub to make sure all 3 are glowing blue
                        • going to Settings
                        • and reconnecting to Wi-Fi again ?

                          I'm not on Wi-fi.

                          I saw this:

                          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZuZC2ed6X0

but I am afraid to try to because I don't know what I am doing and don't want to mess anything else up and it goes too fast for me to read all the instructions.

so don't use chrome then. Use a different browser.

                              Computer problem fixed.

All it took was resetting the modem.
