My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not  bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26

What crime are they investigating where the President's personal bank records would be relevant? Smells like another witch hunt.
Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd

Than a fool in the eyes of God

Trump has lots of smelly things hidden in closets. Eventually a door to one will get opened that he hasn't been able to clean up first.

Possible, and I wouldn't be surprised if true. But after four years of concerted 24/7 investigations by everyone and their brother, the very fact that they are still looking is strong evidence against it. And the odds decrease every single day that passes.

I'm always still in trouble again

No - it's strong evidence Trump has gotten very good at keeping his messes clean enough he hasn't gotten caught ... yet.

He didn't have a 'fixer' because he doesn't have smelly things hidden in closets.

Ah, the old claim that finding no evidence of wrongdoing obviously means that the person is the grand master of hiding it.

In other words, there is no crime. The Democrats just want to keep digging under false pretenses until they can find something.

And not necessarily anything illegal or unethical but something that could be embarrassing and used to mock him in commercials etc.

If Trump had nothing to hide, he'd have released this information like every other presidential candidate does.

As a general rule, congress can investigate what it feels like in its investigative committees. Something like this that would ordinarily be public knowledge before the President is elected, clearly is validly something congress can request to see if it feels like it.

If SCOTUS decrees that congress can't subpoena such basic information about the President, it would be alarming as it would undo the whole concept of congress keeping the President accountable, and any repeat Nixons would walk away scot-free as they would just refuse requests for information from congress.
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein
