Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
A rags to riches story, your story!
It has been said that love like justice is blind. I disagree, “This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.” (Psalm 34:6, NKJV) I believe God looks at my life sees the flaws that disfigure me and because of His love and forgiveness they become transparent allowing His love to transform me from rags to riches. And out of the miracle of His love in spite of my flaws I become the “diamond” God sees me as. Or I should say, because of the miracle of God’s love in spite of OUR flaws WE become the “diamond” God sees US as.
God’s love doesn’t stop with us instead it enables us to see, forgive, and love as God sees, forgives, and love. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the difficulty we encounter when we see, forgive, and love as God does because as long as we draw breath our imperfections lie just below the surface. So for us love becomes a choice yet when we do choose to love as God loves us God blesses us.
The apostle Paul eloquently and powerfully provides us with valuable insight into the transforming power of God’s love for us on a daily basis. “You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God’s gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. It isn’t something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about. God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. That’s why he sent Christ to make us what we are.” (Ephesians 2:8–10, CEV)
The Psalmist also provides us valuable insight into the power of God’s love for us. “Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.” (Psalm 41:1–3, NKJV)
BE strong in the LORD!
Grace and PEACE, Amen!
