  • The Concorde II? A New Supersonic Private Plane?

Billionaire's Supersonic Jet Advances With Factory Plans, Airbus

This Texas Billionaire, Robert Bass, is the guy who helped Blue Bell Ice Cream get back on the road to producing Ice Cream.

Meanwhile, has anybody here flown in - or even SEEN - the Concorde, or know anybody else who has?
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Does he want his own Batplane?

The husband of one of my cousins flew in one while in Europe. While talking to him about it when their family stayed with me during the 96 Olympics he mentioned that despite being billed as luxurious he found it to be uncomfortable.

I'm always still in trouble again

Interesting. I think this new one is supposed to "wow" folks with amenities, besides being supersonic.

I still say that a Batplane would be cooler!

To me, the more important question is, will it be profitable? Shortening the trips across the oceans was one of the drawing points of the speedy concorde of old.

After the supersonic planes stopped operations, then I thought it would have been nice to have flown in one. It might have been worth the cost.

Maybe I will have another chance to fly in one.

I was working at the Anchorage airport back in the 70s when it landed there. I saw it land but do not recall seeing it take off. That movable nose was cute.

The concorde was never profitable, so we'll see if this one can do that...

That is what I recall, time will tell if there is clientele to cover the cost for the new ones.

I saw it land and take off from RDU. A local group chartered it. It was an amazing spectical. There was a huge crowd gathered along the side of the road where it used to (pre 911) parallel the largest runway. The pilots did a go around to entertain the crowd. As it came by, it was really pitched at a steep angle, looking like a large bird about to land. Then those unimaginably loud engines kick in and it climbed away and circled back for the actual landing. Something I'll never forget.

My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not  bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19

They've always struck me to be aiming at a non-existent niche. The Robinson helicopters started out the same way.
                          I'm not here anymore.

Yeah, there's a pretty finite group that can afford to do that with any regularity, and they probably have access to their own jets - owned or rented. If I had my own jet, I'd rather fly on my own schedule to wherever I wanted to go. And those smaller jets can even land and take off from the airport in my own neighborhood.
