Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
    Advent 2015: The Arrival…

“After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.” (Matthew 2:9–10, ESV)

Over the years I’ve heard and read many different theories as to what the “Star of Bethlehem” really was. The one that seems to be to incredible is the one that suggests it was a slow moving UFO. (By the way I just made that one up.) To those who have tried to explain it away and see it as an Unidentified Flying Object that needs to be defined and explained bring up a couple of questions. Why do people always need an explanation for some things that reveal a hidden truth? Don’t they know when they expend their energy and time trying to explain away a mystery they’ll miss the meaning of the mystery?

Now I am not an expert at the movement of planets and stars, nor am I a professional at mathematics but I am an expert at the movement of God (at least in my life). It is my expert opinion that the UFO followed by the Wisemen that night long ago was the Light of the Holy Spirit sent by God to lead them to Jesus. I know this to be true because the Light of the Holy Spirit has been leading me for over 69 years through “valleys”, “rivers”, “storms”, “hopelessness”, “helplessness,” and even “sunny days”. And I’ll bet you can say the same thing about your life as well, can’t you?

So the next time someone tries to define the Star of Bethlehem as a UFO please set them straight and tell them it’s not a UFO instead it’s the Light of the Holy Spirit! And please remind them that God is so clever at hiding His works in natural phenomenon that it doesn’t take “rocket science” see the Holy Spirit at work!

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
