Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Expedition of Light and Truth
    And we pray!

Someone said prayer is communication with God and that it is – but prayer is more than just communication with God – prayer is being with God and in our being with God we EXCHANGE information with him. Of all the things you will do today spending time with God is most important. Perhaps you already know that – perhaps you need a reminder – or perhaps you need to begin.

The Psalmist testifies of the value in prayer, ““My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. Those who desert him will perish, for you destroy those who abandon you. But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.” (Psalm 73:26–28, NLT)

When we embark on a journey of prayer we must never forget who we are and who God is. We are flesh and spirit – God is only Spirit. We may use word phrases, emotional phrases, and physical phrases to express our being with God but it is at a spiritual level he will meet us. You don’t need to be a spiritual giant to pray and be with God you only need to be open to God. To be open to God is to give him the freedom to use whatever method he chooses to make his presence known to you. When you do that God will “tailor make” a method best suited for where you are in your spiritual development.

I remember years ago just before leaving work for the day I was praying about some hip pain I was having and as the sun dropped low enough on the horizon a beam of light found its way through a small opening in the painted windows of our building hitting me in both eyes. Instantly I knew that God was there with me and would be with me. It took some time for the pain to ease but knowing God was with me made it possible for me to feel at peace. And all these years later the memory of that day and those since then stand as a living testimony that God never leaves us alone even though He sometimes hides.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
