  • Acosta's white house pass removed ..

Because he asked questions Trump didn't like at a press conference. Sanders in explaining why made up a story about things that didn't happen.

I expect the peanut gallery to think this is ok. Because, why would we want the press to ask probing questions of our government leaders? After all, they would never do something that wasn't good for us or illegal - right?

Those nasty people at cnn, always asking the wrong questions and embarrassing our glorious leader.

It's the job of the press to be adversarial to those in power in a democracy. That's part of what separates a democracy from a dictatorship.

Trump throwing a tantrum and kicking out a reporter reveals himself to be a baby, and is totally unacceptable.
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump

No, Jackass Jim, Sarah did not "make up" anything.

No, Twin Titans of Twaddle, it is not the "job" of the media to be "adversarial" to those in power. That may *occasionally* be *part* of the job, but Jim Acost-her has made it the prime modus operandi of his attention-seeking raison d'etre.

In light of his disruptive rudeness, I have no problem with him being temporarily placed in the penalty box.

The role of the media is to ask questions in order to keep people informed and updated with the latest news. This is what Acosta was doing in a professional and courteous manner. The free press is an essential component of a democracy. OTOH Trump views the media (with the exception of his propaganda outlet at Fox) as an opposition party to be fought against and derided.

In light of his disruptive rudeness, I have no problem with him being temporarily placed in the penalty box.
He was not rude. I suggest you view the video. Sarah's account of the episode is wrong and Trump's reaction was that of a petulant child...no surprise there. .

Something they totally forgot for 8 years and seek to make up for it and more now.

More and more Americans are seeing for themselves that the umpires/referees in the game have thrown aside impartiality and have joined one side and aren't even bothering to conceal it.

And it has nothing to do with the questions that Acosta asks (many in the White House press corp ask tougher ones) but his behavior. He is there solely to provoke in order to make himself the story.

There were less lies to contend with and less fact-checks required in the Obama era...in fact ANY previous era.

More and more Americans are seeing for themselves that the umpires/referees in the game have thrown aside impartiality and have joined one side and aren't even bothering to conceal it.
You’re referring to Fox “News” and Breitbart presumably.

It can't be easy to remain impartial when denounced regularly, along with other MSM (except Fox and Breitbart), as "fake news", but he manages to remain professional in a hostile environment.

That is both stupid and biased Jim. I watched the press conference, Acosta was being his usual ass self, and refused to give up the mic. And there were plenty of hard questions that I'm sure that Trump did not like.

No, it was because he was a disrespectful ass who refused to share the mic and interrupted other reporters when they were trying to ask questions.

As you raise your rhetoric against me, let it be known that I have been moderated for using the same word you and several others here have used. In fact, the reason I thought it would be ok to allude to the term (I used $$ signs for the 'ss') was observing so many of the peanut gallery using it NOT being moderated.

That said, she did make up a 'story'. She implied Acosta improperly touched an intern and that is why his pass was revoked, when in fact the only contact that occurred between him and the intern was her trying to take the microphone from him. A clear attempt to not merely ban him, but to smear him. There is video of the event. There are multiple tweets from other reporters near Acosta exonerating him.

Well, Sarah gave the reason that he had improperly touched an intern and that would not be tolerated. Do you really suppose you can deny what any fool can google for themselves - or did you just assume 'Sarah would not do such a thing' and chose not to check first ...

That would not be the opinion of most of the journalists in the room seer. I will agree Acosta was aggressive in his attempt to get answers from Trump. But that is NOT the reason Sarah gave for the removal of his pass.

This is not the first time, or the last time, we have seen reporters asking questions of Trump that Trump didn't like being 'banned'. It is a message to the press in general. You ask questions we don't like, we'll kick you out.

My guess is that will backfire.

but we will likely continue to see more and more aggressive and over the top actions by trump the next few months. That is the window of time he has to secure his position against the veil being pulled back by the incoming democratic congress.

It had barely gone over 20 minutes since that was written when you posted this. Perhaps you could wait a little bit longer until you start insinuating that the mods are giving some people preferential treatment?

It's more a rag on them. There are plenty of examples of the word being used without it being moderated over the last few months. I don't typically use any profanity, although rarely I might allude to it in comic book form. I just thought it odd they said anything at all to me given how often I've seen it used lately without a response. In fact, the only reason I even alluded to so directly using the $ signs was because it is being used so frequently I thought it must be an exception to the rule. After all, it is found in the KJV Bible, and is a legitimate synonym for a donkey.

For that word it depends on context. If it refers to a donkey, allowed, to someone's rear end, it is not.

I watched the press conference earlier - I do not understand why the press as a whole do not stand up to Trump's juvenile bullying. His conduct in the conference yesterday was appalling. The next reporter should have just sat down and suggested the President answers the previous question.

Though if I were Acosta I'd be walking on air for being relieved from enduring the scowling face of Lyin' Sara on a daily basis...
