Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing Jehovah-Jireh...
    Listening to Jesus…
    Shalom!

“Then a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my dearly loved Son. Listen to him.” Suddenly, when they looked around, Moses and Elijah were gone, and they saw only Jesus with them.” (Mark 9:7–8, NLT)

The importance of listening and knowing Jesus cannot be overstated! None of us will never see Jesus as Peter and John did the night Elijah, Moses, and Jesus stood talking together. We’ll probably never see Jesus’ robe become dazzling white, far whiter than any earthly bleach could ever make them but there are times when hearing is more important than seeing. “This is my dearly loved Son,” God speaks to you and me, “listen to him because he has the words of encouragement you need to hear.”

I did a quick search on Google of the word transfiguation and found this: “a complete change of form or appearance into a more beautiful or spiritual state.” When you stop to consider it isn’t that what Jesus wants to do with our lives and in our lives? Doesn’t Isaiah say that in chapter 63 verse 3? “To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.” (Isaiah 61:3, NLT)

Jesus is in the business of speaking our junk into beauty. For me a troubled heart, troubled lungs, and a troubled life have become points of God’s ever present Grace, Jesus has transfigured me into a Child of God. Among the thousands of visual words Jesus has spoken to me are these: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27, NLT) I try very hard to never forget those words but every now and then I do forget them (like this morning) and the Holy Spirit finds a way of reminding me of them. This morning it was writing this Glory Seed.

When you stop to think about it no wonder God wants us to listen to Jesus! Just think of what we’d miss if we listened to the voices of the world bombarding us 24/7 instead of listening to Jesus’ voice. How do we listen for and to Jesus’ inaudible voice? We open up our hearts and our eyes, we open up our bibles, we open up other books that write of Jesus, we open up our lives to each other, we turn off the distracting sounds of the world and turn on the peaceful melodies of music, we listen to the visual word of Jesus in nature.

Listen my friends, Jesus is speaking to you NOW!

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”**

    GRACE and PEACE,
    Gary
