Well, I grew up in church. My dad was the organist and choir director, so I was there every time the church was open. I accepted Jesus, and was baptized. Then I joined the Navy, and more or less...

We're not talking about Open Theists. Further, from my POV, it's Calvinists who have a problem with sovereignty. That a sovereign chooses to allow his subject to have freedom of choice in a matter...

Ah, that sheds some light on things. You had what in Christian parlance is called a "mountain top experience." It felt wonderful; you were energized and excited, and wanted it to last forever. ...

  13. Re: Multiple water baptisms for a Christian?

Generally, no. From the Nicene Creed: "We believe in one baptism for the remission of sins." A person should only be baptized upon conversion to another denomination if their new denomination...

While Pat's comments are wrong, it does take two to make a relationship work. Some wives make it awfully tempting for their husbands to look elsewhere (and vice versa).

    Re: Historical Information About Saints

In St. Arsenios the Cappadocian, the author describes how he collected the material upon which he based his hagiography. It is also a good example on how a saint would try to hide his holiness.

You're probably out of luck if you're looking for the notes behind published hagiography. The closer the first Life is to when the saint was living, the more likely it is to be accurate in detail.
