And get rid of the albums. I am pressed for space in my house and need to minimize the junk.

Dee Dee, think this through - how many hard drives have you killed this year? If you can't keep up with a single phone number how you gonna keep up with DVD's (assuming you back up to DVD and not another hard drive - which you will kill...)?

If you have to dump the albums consider photo boxes. They store a great number more pics than an album and they don't die with your hard drive. Shove box on top shelf of closet and you've gained the space you want without risking your photos to electronic death.

I am storing offline now. I pay for a backup service so I don't use those external hard drives. I didn't keep track of numbers before because I didn't enjoy my digital life like I do now with my Mac. Everyone is in my Address book now. I hated Microsoft Active Sync so I never bothered with numbers before. All I need is an iphone. I now use iphoto and actually manage my photos and I am going to get a private Flickr pro account to have another backup of my photos.

And the account info is written down on paper somewhere, right? Storing it on the hard drive kinda defeats the purpose...
