Re: uninstalling mac apps
My sister buys pc components for a health science center, and she absolutely refuses to talk to me about macs. Like having an unhacked computer is a bad thing.
Probably the biggest problem I had was the Mac being touted as so user friendly it was like a child's version of a "real" computer.
I actually really like it, I'm just impatient with learning the essentials. I would rather go about cluttering my hard drive with programs.
Which reminds me...the downloads that are on your desktop, do you put those in a file, or what?COGITO ERGO CHICO AND ZEPPO~ from Tonio K's website.

Re: uninstalling mac apps
You can drag those programs to the Applications folder. (though there is no rule to do this, you can run them off your desktop if you like)

Re: uninstalling mac apps
Dragging and dropping doesn't move files like it does in Windows, it copies them. I don't know what key to hit to move them. I just drag them to the trash when I am sure I am done with them.

Re: uninstalling mac apps
Then I have to keep Firefox on my desktop because I don't want to trash it? (Actually, that isn't different than windows, I don't know why I expected macs to be any different.)

No, once it is copied to the applications folder, you delete it from your desktop.

I'm checking out the tips and tricks website, and I've learned how to screen capture. Man, the Tiger OS has voiceover commands! This is fun.
