Re: Wiccan/Pagan Chillout Thread! (Christians welcome!)
I've been doing all right so far...but what I really miss is hot chocolate and tea. :( I started drinking tea instead of soda in February, but now I drink sodas again (Sprite and 7-Up, since they're caffeine-free) because I can't afford drinking strictly juice. :/ I guess tea and hot chocolate are going to be relegated to that category of "once in a while" treats. :/
Which blows, because it's getting cold here now, and tea and hot chocolate (and sometimes coffee) are what I drink during the winter to keep warm. :("Let's hear that dirty word: SOCIALISM!" - Jay Billington Bulworth, "Bulworth" (1998)

What's the matter with hot chocolate? There's no caffeine there. If it's the sugar you're worried about, try sugar-free hot chocolate. It's drinkable. Certain teas (mostly fruit teas or those marked so) also contain no caffeine. And I'd suggest finding hot apple cider packets too, I know your local grocery store or bulk barn will have them. There's NOOOOOO good reason to give up hot drinks in the winter!

Re: Wiccan/Pagan Chillout Thread! (Christians welcome!)
Thanks for the suggestions, all. :)
I prefer real chocolate (which contains some caffeine) when I can drink it, though I can stand some of the watered down/synthetic/low-grade/etc hot chocolates. Black tea and green tea also contain similar amounts of caffeine. With the exception of my one day a week coffee, black and green tea in the bottles (like Lipton, etc) were what I was drinking.
I like herbal teas and have a large variety, including red teas, which don't have caffeine. The problem is that I have to make those in advance and can't grab them on the run. I also have a very small refrigerator (I live in a dorm) so the iced quantities I can make during the warmer days are limited.
And unless I want to run down to the basement for making drinks (I'm on the third floor) I'm limited to what can be made in a four-cup coffee pot. ^_^; Yes, dorm life is awesome. :D /sarcasm"Let's hear that dirty word: SOCIALISM!" - Jay Billington Bulworth, "Bulworth" (1998)

Re: Wiccan/Pagan Chillout Thread! (Christians welcome!)
This is a sign.
In my opinion, the single most telling piece of evidence that shows how poorly we're manifesting our call to care for animals is the recent creation of factory farms. Over the last century we have, to a large degree, reduced farm animals to commercialized commodities whose only value is found in how efficiently we can produce and slaughter them for profit. Consequently, more than 26 billion animals each year are forced to live in miserable, overcrowded warehouses, where there is absolutely nothing natural about their existence and where they are subjected to barbaric, painful, industrial procedures.
This is a far cry from what God meant when he told us to exercise "dominion." (Pastor Greg Boyd.)
