Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing
Always an encouraging word…
PEACE be unto you!
Not one us does not at some point in our life need encouragement. When becomes sour for whatever reason the sweet sound of encouraging words can turn bitter experiences to sweet encounters with those who really care for us. The “ministry” of encouragement was important to the apostle Paul. “If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. Don't just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.” (Romans 12:8-10 NLT)
Three or four days ago I found myself teetering on the verge of getting discouraged but before it got to the point of full-blown discouragement I received some encouraging words from a friend. In an email response to a Glory Seed he wrote, “Let me know also if you are buying a new one (computer), I would be glad to contribute to keep the Glory Seeds coming!” When I read is email tears welled up in my eyes. I was like a kite suddenly grabbing the wind and taking off into the clear blue sky. God knew what I needed at that moment and provided it for me, but then that’s one of the things that God does best giving us what we need when we need it. And here’s the best part He uses us to accomplish it.
In response to my friends encouragement I wrote in my Emails to God Blog “Why am I Discouraged” I wanted to use it as a Glory Seed but it’s too long for use here but if you’d like to read it here’s the link http://wp.me/p1JHn4-6V.
Not only does God strengthen us we also gain strength from the encouragement we receive from each other. “Even though You are present with me I still find myself in heart-to-flesh combat. It would be okay if they were just minor skirmishes but they are not, these are major campaigns with a great deal at stake. Even now it seems as if my spirit seems to be losing to the 3D’s but I am not getting tired of fighting. I will continue to fight for as long as it takes because while it has always been a mystery the longer I fight the stronger I get.” (Emails to God)
Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!
Gary
