I do not recall any details, this was years ago while I was on duty at the Association Bee Exhibit. I am sure there were lots of stings, but who won I do not know.

The season has gotten off to a start at last. I have been building and modifying hive stands, but yesterday I wet through one of my three survivors. Cleaned out the dead bees under the bottom box and they are ready to grow. They have been flying and bringing in willow pollen. Hurray, I am a beekeeper again.

Jed, our community has just decided to allow beekeeping in town. I think that's very exciting!

They were going to allow chickens, too, but that got nixed. I thank that's a good thing!

I went through another survivor today, but it was disappointing. Less than two full frames of bees, and no capped brood. I would normally just combine such a colony with another, but I will in this case keep it and requeen with a new winter hardy (I hope) queen. Tomorrow I hope to make it to the last surviving colony.

So far in my yard all I have are wasps and bumble bees. I think this particular bumble bee is in love with my glider. It keeps hovering in front of it, then flies off and comes back and hovers in front of it again. all day long. It's a metal frame!

Does your glider have a flower pattern on it? That, if the colors are right, might attract them for a short time until the figure out that there is nothing there.

yeah, but it is in metal and the whole frame is white, no colors.

here is a photo of it (there are no cushions on it right now)
