Mxpx - Before Everything and After
...comes out tomorrow!!! :gyipee:
In the grave they chose to make their beds
Now all that they've created comes crashing down,
Down upon their heads
Death is waiting

Hmm....
I decided to cheat and find the album on IRC so I could hear it before I bought it...and I'm kind of disappointed. It's the same old Mxpx, which is part of the problem. The voice and catchy melodies are there but there's no real progression from the previous albums. Only 2 or 3 of the songs had hooks that left more than just a passing impression on me. The album seems to be just a rehash of ground already covered. Not as solid as The Ever-Passing Moment and not and catchy as Life in General.
This might be the first Mxpx album that I don't buy.

Yeh, I like some of their stuff, even if they're a bit liberal for my taste. (Kind of like FiF, although I have much less respect for FiF than I do MxPx.)
Thanks for your patience in the thread's I have previously committed myself to. Things are still difficult and topsy-turvy here, and I may actually start work somewhere this week (strong likelihood), so I'll do my best to answer some of those threads! See you in the forums...
When even our Christian leadership has committed to a strategy of compromising on "Do not murder" by supporting judges [like Alito], politicians [like Bush] and rulings that explicitly will kill certain innocent children, it is absurd for us to ask God to bless America. -- Bob Enyart, 1/18/06

Why do you say that?

Well, songs in which they praise cheating or stealing, and put down American society, and the idea of getting a job and working hard for a living, settling down, etc....
But they have some great songs, as well. I take the good, throw out the rest. Thanks for your patience in the thread's I have previously committed myself to. September 15th 2003, 09:49 PM #6Same reasons I stopped listening to them after Going the way of the buffalo... They do put on a good live show. I saw a show where some dude tried to call them out as "wannabe punks" and Mike called him the punk police. That guy gotEm7add11:

The rain, it started tapping on the window near my bed.
There was a loophole in my dreaming, so I got out of it.
And to my surprise my eyes were wide and already open.
