Transliteration:

Translation (ESV):

Jesus said to him,
"Go; your son will live."
The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way.

[greek]poreuou[/greek] : imperative go, present imperative of [greek]poreuomai[/greek] generally preferred to aorist, its characteristic significance cannot therefore be stressed [BG: Sometimes the present expresses the notion of "setting about" an activity, of occupying oneself about something, and thus several verbs which of their nature refer in the concreted to a definite act to be posited are used in the present form, e.g. [greek]egeire[/greek] ("get up!") [greek]fere, upage, poreuou[/greek] (this latter form twenty times in the gospels against five aorists)].
