[Making the switch] Red Hat Linux 9
Well, I finally messed with it and got it on the network, so I am posting from RH9's Galeon!!
Konqueror had some serious issues with TW, but good old Mozilla saw me through.
I really like all the games this puppy came with, and how it came with the option to install Apache and MySQL, so I can basically move my TW test stuff from Windows to Linux.(Note to self: I need to reconfigure MySQL, it wouldn't start(no biggie) and check to make sure that PHP is installed)
All I need is to get Samba and (hopefully) NTFS support going. Seeing how NTFS is still experimental, I may hold off on that.(plus, while I may be willing to recompile TW's server, I don't want to take the risk in recompiling my Kernel)
Wish me luck.
Just a note, $cir is right. -Sparko

Good luck! Might do the same myself, once I get my new system I'll have a spare box to use for devlopment. It'll have the test CAA forums on it, as well as a few other things.. I'm still learning php at the moment.
One day I'll be able to hack vbulletin properly too :PBoycott the RIAA ~ WWW.DONTBUYCDS.ORG

linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net has some great stuff for helping you get NTFS set up under Red Hat. I didn't want to recompile my kernal either so it was nice that they had an RPM that installed the feature automagically.

Oh, I forgot to mention I have redhat9 distro as well. But I can't wait to try Fedora! :)
Do you pine for the nice days of minix-1.1, when men were men and wrote their own device drivers?
