Re: those loopy internet pictures...
Jesus speaks with the Pharisee, Nicodemus, who has come to meet with Jesus and to question Him. Nicodemus was a member of the Great Sanhedrin council in Jerusalem.
".....as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert [on a pole], so must [so it is necessary that] the Son of Man be lifted up [on the cross], [Numbers 21:9]
In order that everyone who believes in Him [who cleaves to Him, trusts Him, and relies on Him] may not perish, but have eternal life and [actually] live forever!
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life."
..........
~ the words of Jesus, according to His disciple, John
>
In my opinion, the single most telling piece of evidence that shows how poorly we're manifesting our call to care for animals is the recent creation of factory farms. Over the last century we have, to a large degree, reduced farm animals to commercialized commodities whose only value is found in how efficiently we can produce and slaughter them for profit. Consequently, more than 26 billion animals each year are forced to live in miserable, overcrowded warehouses, where there is absolutely nothing natural about their existence and where they are subjected to barbaric, painful, industrial procedures.
This is a far cry from what God meant when he told us to exercise "dominion." (Pastor Greg Boyd.)

Re: those loopy internet pictures...
.....Jesus, continuing, talking about himself, with the Pharisee, Nicodemus:
"For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.
He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgement; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation - - he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God." [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ's name.]
~ Jesus, from His disciple John's book, the third chapter.

(Jesus, resting from a journey from Judea to Galilee, arrives at a Samaritan town. The well called Jacob's Well is here...)
...a woman of Samaria came along to draw water, [and] Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink --"
For His disciples had gone off into town to buy food --
The Samaritan woman said to Him, How is that you, being a Jew, ask me, A Samaritan [and a] woman, for a drink ? -- For the Jews have nothing to do with the Samaritans --
Jesus answered her, "If you had only known and had recognized God's gift and who this is that is saying to you, Give me a drink, you would have asked him [instead] and he would have given you living water."
She said to Him, Sir, You have nothing to draw with (no drawing bucket) and the well is deep; how can you provide living water ? [Where do you get your living water?]
Are you greater than and superior to our ancestor, Jacob, who gave us this well and who used to drink from it himself, and his sons and his cattle also ?
Jesus answered her, "All who drink of this water will be thirsty again. But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty anymore. [But] the water I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life."
~Jesus' words according to His disciple John.

Re: those loopy internet pictures...
Jesus' conversation with the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well continues! ... Part 2, as they say (see the post directly above this one):
The woman said to him (Jesus), Sir, give me this [living] water, so that I may never get thirsty nor have to come [continually all the way] here to draw.
At this, Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband and come back here."
The woman answered, I have no no husband.
Jesus said to her, "You have spoken truly in saying, I have no husband. For you have had five husbands, and the man you are now living with is not your husband. In this you have spoken truly."
The woman said to him, Sir, I see and understand that you are a prophet.
Our forefathers worshiped on this mountain, but you [Jews] say that Jerusalem is the place where it is necessary and proper to worship.
Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither [merely] in this mountain nor [merely] in Jerusalem.
You Samaritans do not know what you are worshiping [you worship what you do not comprehend].
We do know what we are worshiping [we worship what we have knowledge of and understand], for [after all] salvation comes from [among] the Jews."
(Jesus goes on...) "A time will come, however, indeed it is already here, when the true (genuine) worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality); for the Father is seeking just such people as these as His worshipers.
God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality)."
The woman said to him, I know that Messiah is coming, he who is called the Anointed One; and when he arrives, he will tell us everything we need to know and make it clear to us.
Jesus said to her, "I Who speak to you am He."
~Jesus' teachings, according to His disciple, John.

Day 49.
In the last day - it's first in use so far, the BP containment cap is suctioning-off and away 10 / 19ths of the oil that is spilling from the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig wreck, off the coast of SE Louisiana. This is a great improvement, but they have just got to do more.
? ...Much point in doing so now ? (I don't know). BP is going to try to better the cap's ability, the CEO said today. He also told British TV viewers that the cap was removing "the vast majority of" the oil. It's removing about half of it. Our govt. estimates that 9,000 barrels a day are still escaping. That's 378,000 gallons a day.
All these photos, except one, are from Louisiana, my "home" state. The one with the two women in swimsuits on the white beach was shot in Florida. Oil is coming ashore there now. So congratulations there on your membership, along with all the gulf states inbetween, Floridians.

..........[Jesus'] disciples urged Him saying, "Rabbi, eat something."
But [Jesus] assure them, I have food (nourishment) to eat of which you know nothing and have no idea.
So the disciples said one to another, Has someone brought Him something to eat?
Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work.

Do you not say, It is still four months until harvest time comes? Look! I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields and see how how they are already white, for harvesting.
Already the reaper is getting his wages [he who does the cutting now has his reward], for he is gathering fruit (crop) unto life eternal, so that he who does the planting and he does the reaping may rejoice together.
..............................
...numerous Samaritans from that town, *Sychar, where Jacob's well was,* believed in and trusted in Him (Jesus) because of what the woman said when she declared, "He told me everything that I ever did."
So when the Samaritans arrived, they asked Him to remain with them, and He did stay there two days.
Then many more believed in and trusted in Him because of His (Jesus') message to them.
~ all this was said and happened, according to Jesus' disciple, John.

Jesus came to Cana of Galilee.....and there was a royal official whose son was lying ill in Capernaum.
Having heard that Jesus had come back from Judea into Galilee, he went to meet Him and began to beg Him to come down and cure his son, for he was lying at the point of death.
Then Jesus said to him, Unless you see signs and miracles happen, you [people] never will believe (trust, have faith) at all.
The king's officer pleaded with Him, Sir, do come down at once before my little child is dead!
Jesus answered him, Go in peace; your son will live! And the man put his trust in what Jesus said and started home.
But even as he was on the road going home, his servants met him and reported, saying, Your son lives!
So he asked them at what time he had begun to get better. They said, Yesterday during the seventh hour (about one o'clock in the afternoon) the fever left him.
Then the father knew that it was about that very hour when Jesus had said to him, Your son will live. And he and his entire household believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Jesus).
