Re: Photos as Art
I like the bathing bird, shaking off (twisting away) the water !
In my opinion, the single most telling piece of evidence that shows how poorly we're manifesting our call to care for animals is the recent creation of factory farms. Over the last century we have, to a large degree, reduced farm animals to commercialized commodities whose only value is found in how efficiently we can produce and slaughter them for profit. Consequently, more than 26 billion animals each year are forced to live in miserable, overcrowded warehouses, where there is absolutely nothing natural about their existence and where they are subjected to barbaric, painful, industrial procedures.
This is a far cry from what God meant when he told us to exercise "dominion." (Pastor Greg Boyd.)

Re: Photos as Art
I'm not sure, but I think the bird and the cat are Photoshopped. Or whatever is the biggest baddest photo software.
The bird head looks like a swirl effect, but what makes me doubt it is the water droplets on his wing facing the camera. I can't quite explain it, but it looks like these droplets have been added on. They aren't round droplets and they aren't elongated like they are on the left wing (the rest of the water looks normal). They look a little like they are going different directions to me.
What makes me doubt the cat is the little ripples under his paw where he would be landing first. It is the only disturbed water in the whole picture, and he hasn't landed yet. He's dry, so he isn't dropping water. I don't know how easy it would be to make the reflection in the water, but he looks like cats do when they are standing on a mirror unawares and then looks down. Suddenly they jump because there is no apparent ground for them to be on.

Oh no, if I had more time, I would love to take up photography, but I have not the time, so right now I am just an admirer and collector.
