Re: Graeme Jones' Aliens in the Bible thread
Wow... Graeme is just almost as arrogant as DJ... almost.
This one is more cute than dangerous to anyone's faith. Seriously, not even a junior Christian would fall for Graeme's arguments - and if he/she did, they would eventually be repelled by his glory-hog self-image.
People aren't moral and rational because some sort of religion or atheism has automatically put that moral or rational thinking in them; people are moral and rational because they are the image of a loving and wise God.

Due to rampant stupidity by Skeptics, and time issues, I'm only going to be on TWeb in my own (tektonics.org) section from now on. Deal with it.

Re: Graeme Jones' Aliens in the Bible thread
well you wouldn't like my arguments would you - you're a christian.Even my tremendous pessimism about humanity won't allow me just yet to believe that you're honestly this oblivious.
Well they wouldn't be original, would they, as peter wrote it an aramaic (as i have already proved) And I thought that most christians admit that you don't have the originals so we don't know what theysaid.provide the actual Greek words used in Peter's letter
Have we just discovered a contradiction in the bible? If I might interject, the Bible translation I have in front of me doesn't use the term "alien" there.
Ah - but i bet they had scholars in the bbc research department that invented the questions. If you don't believe me look here and here. Wikipedia says 'Although most of the facts presented on the show are correct,' so most of those facts he gave must be correct if you see what I mean. The host of that show is not a scholar
it's not been refuted in any of the books I've read.despite being regularly refuted
prove it. Or are you saying fish have nothing to do with pisces? Maybe fish is not an important part of the story of the feeding of the 5000. Have you seen Zeiteist the Moie?Jesus feeding 5000+ people has nothing to do with Pisces
you were the ones who admitted that it was scientifically inaccuratewhen the Bible does not claim to be scientifically accurate
when? you must be thinking of someone else. Could you share this proof with us?You just gave me proof.
A gene is a locatable region of genomic sequence, corresponding to a unit of inheritance, which is associated with regulatory regions, transcribed regions and/or other functional sequence regions. Chromosomes are the organized form of DNA found in cells. What is the difference between genes and chromosomes?
and I said read this You see, you don't have to know about something to know it isn't true.I'm asking if you've ever heard of him or his work
because fire is red and so people see a red lorry and think 'fire' I'm not sure what that question has to do with jesus. Why are fire engines red?
Clearly I'm not alone as it was on zeitgeist. Richard Dawkins often gets asked why francis collins believes in god if science is incompatible with religion. In the same spirit I'd like to ask why so many people on the internet believe zeitgeistis is compatible with reality if it is not. Got you there.Surely this guy can't be serious!
I don't understand the question. How you are you?
O.K - here's a new argument to get you going:
As you know, before jesus told us to love god with all our heart (whoops), soul (which doesn't exists, our thoughts are just electrical signals in our brains as scientists have proven), mind and strength, but before it he told people to love their neighbour...but jesus meant your fellow jew. One scholar puts it, 'Jesus limited his in-group of his saved strictly to jews' God Delusion, paperback edition page 288 As you not jews none of you can be christians. Sorry to bring you the bad news.

Graeme, didn't Jesus feed the 5,000 with loaves as well as fishes? Which astrological symbol does bread relate to?
Oh, and sorry to disappoint you, but Richard Dawkins is a biologist. He's not in a position to comment on the bible.Tektonics Research - All content, no jokes.

Re: Graeme Jones' Aliens in the Bible thread
No it doesn't - i've just checkedOops, someone edited the Wikipedia article to say, "It's rumored that the host of the show has flying blue monkeys come out of my butt every alternate Thursday at 12:05 AM CST." It must be true.
"The significance of Bethlehem is another play on words. In Hebrew, “Bethlehem” means house of bread. As the picture of Virgo shows in the picture above, Virgo is holding stalks of grain. It symbolizes Mary in the house of bread. "(click here for source) It was also mentioned on ZeitgeistWhich astrological symbol does bread relate to?

Re: Graeme Jones' Aliens in the Bible thread
It doesn't anymore. Someone edited it back. But the fact stands that it did at one time. It must be true that the host of the show has blue monkeys flying out of his butt.
(Whoever was dastardly enough to edit the article forgot to mention that they were invisible blue monkeys).

Re: Graeme Jones' Aliens in the Bible thread
Excuse me, why do you think this linked site has any authority in biblical studies? I see that the quote refers to the BIRTH of Jesus (it's from a section about the Nativity)- not the feeding of the 5,000. Try again.

(They also seem to think that Orion plays the part of the Son of man in the gospels!!!
