Has anyone mentioned 'Urdu', national language of Pakistan and spoken in large areas of India? Had its beginning in muslim army camps, includes words from Sanskrit, Persian, and Arabic. The verbs (I would say the base) are from Sanskrit. Sixty million people world-wide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urdu). Rich in poetry.
