Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing
    LORD Jesus, I thirst…

    PEACE be unto you!

“Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and He will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.” (Acts 3:19-20 NLT)

To me one of the most devastating sins causing us a great deal of anxiety is that of unbelief or lack of trust in God. The author of Hebrews wrote, “So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter His rest.” (Hebrews 3:19 NLT)

One of the most powerful prayers of repentance (at least for me) is in chapter 6 of Mark’s gospel: "What do you mean, 'If I can'?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if a person believes." The father instantly cried out, "I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!" (Mark 9:23-24 NLT) I know it is difficult for words to express emotions but because this scene has played itself repeatedly in my life. When I close my eyes and imagine myself in the scene I sense the immediacy in Jesus’ voice, there’s no anger in it only a longing and a need for the father to trust him to do what is right. And in response, Jesus hears the immediacy in the father’s confession of his wavering faith.

Because of the powerful worldly forces surrounding us I know I my faith will again waver and I will again hear myself saying, "LORD, help me overcome my unbelief!" Since becoming intimate with today’s scripture a couple of days ago each time I read it the phrase “He will again send you Jesus” I get all warm inside because God responds to my prayer of repentance with the height, width, and depth of His compassion, love and forgiveness. I believe that is what Jesus meant when he told the woman at the well, “But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life." (John 4:14 NLT)

Jesus, thank you for quenching our unquenchable thirst!

Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!
    GRACE and PEACE,
    Gary
