Re: meals on a budget
Any kind of bread will work. The same recipe is good with navy beans or any other soup bean. If you use beans soak them overnight in the crockpot, toss the water out, and put fresh water in with any spices you are using. On my crockpot it takes about 10-12 hours on low, depending upon the size of the bean.

I love cornbread and milk. you break up the cornbread into a bowl and pour milk over it and eat it like cereal.

That's good. I like to cook rice with raisins and cinnamon and a little vanilla and use it with milk for a cereal too. Dirt cheap and tasty.

Well, I don't know if you could find anything like that outside of the US, but I did pretty well on Banquet TV dinners for a while. They were a dollar apiece where I got them.
Tuna can also go a long way. It's cheap, a decent filler for just about any recipe, and if you mix it with some Cajun season and add a bit of bacon ranch it's even good out of the can. I'd recommend getting the stuff packed in water, though. People say it's healthier, but I prefer it because it drains easier and it doesn't come out slimy.
Really anything that comes in a can is a good value. I've spent maybe $100 on groceries since June and thanks to my tendency to stockpile canned veggies, meats, tuna, etc. that $100 has netted me at least a year and a half's worth of meals."Ben Gazi? hmm yeah things are a bit more expensive where I live and its close to a desert without much water our water comes something like 700kms through a pipe
so no garden places or cheap vegies...I do have a garden area I need to get the kids to pull all the grass out tho
it looks like an over grown lawn atm.
