Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing
An Expedition into the Light-Yes Land of fear

    PEACE be unto you!

“The LORD is my light and my salvation--so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?” (Psalms 27:1)

I’ve never really stopped long enough to really go into the nitty-gritty of what fear is and how it plays an important part of my life. Until now. As I begin my expedition into the Light-Yes Land of fear I first need to center myself around the fact that fear is a necessary and important part of life, it is not something to be skirted around or denied but an emotional tool to be used. Having come to that conclusion the next part of the expedition is to reconcile Jesus’ instruction (bordering on a commandment) not to be afraid.

In light of what Jesus had to say about being afraid and since I believe fear is a necessary part of life that means there’s an imaginary line dividing fear as a positive experience and fear as a negative experience. Jesus defined the line in the Sermon on the Mount, "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.” (Matthew 6:34, emphasis added) I understand Jesus to be saying, “Once fear has taken on the identity of worry you have crossed the border into the “Light-Less land” of negativity.

Before going further I need to clarify the use of “Light-Less” rather than using the word dark. On the surface it may appear as if I am just making a play on words but I am not. For me there is a huge difference from living “Light-Less” and living in the dark. “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, "I am the light of the world. If you follow Me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." (John 8:12) Light has a permanency about it whereas darkness is only temporary. When it is dark out there still is light it is only shining somewhere else and eventually life will go from dark to light. Jesus will never leave those who believe and trust him Light-Less, “…And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20) However, when it is Light-Less there is no light therefore since there is no light forthcoming there is no hope. The danger of a Light-Less world originates from the fact that one can be bathed in the brightest light and still live in a Light-Less world.

Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!
    GRACE and PEACE,
    Gary
