Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing
Experiencing God…
PEACE be unto you!
“O God, You are my God; I earnestly search for You. My soul thirsts for You; my whole body longs for You in this parched and weary land where there is no water. I have seen You in Your sanctuary and gazed upon Your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise You! I will praise You as long as I live, lifting up my hands to You in prayer. You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise You with songs of joy. I lie awake thinking of You, meditating on You through the night. Because You are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings. I cling to You; Your strong right hand holds me securely.” (Psalms 63:1-8 NLT)
Jehovah Jireh, you are the God who is seen and who is my provider. When I read scriptures like the one above I wish the bible was a real door I could open walk through and give you a great big bear hug. I try to be a upbeat and positive as I can but there are times when the burdens of living become so overwhelming I need a place where I can go and shut the world out. LORD, when I turn to your word I discover your WORD reaching out from its pages inviting me to sit awhile in his reassuring presence and feast on a diet of divine love, acceptance, forgiveness, comforting peace.
God, when I experience You it is in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years but when you experience me it’s the sum total of my seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years. I remember as a kid at home I did not always respect my mom and dad and often became angry with them. And now after all these years my heart is heavy because of my immaturity and my selfishness. But because You experience the total some of my years the remorse and regret weighing heavily on my heart tonight You accept as repentance and LORD I can feel Your forgiving heart.
“The one thing I ask of the LORD--the thing I seek most--is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD's perfections and meditating in His Temple.” (Psalms 27:4 NLT) LORD, no wonder why the Psalmist wanted to live in Your house, I long for that day too but for now I am satisfied to sit in the shadow of Your wings.
Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!
