      Progress!

Last evening, night, and this morning has me feeling and functioning more normal than not. Thank God! and all the many people who have been praying for me!

The surgeon told me that he totally shut down my digestive system and replaced it with a tube inserted through my nose all the way down into the then dormant ilium. He said that two of the six hours of surgery were spent inserting the tube. The reason the hospital stay was so long was that the spontaneous recovery of a functioning ilium in my case took nearly 10 days, and recovery of all my other bodily processes have been correspondingly retarded.

But now I am back! The grace of God has me weeping in gratitude!

        Great news, John!

Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. – St. John Chrysostom

I didn't know you could shut down the digestive system. Wow, that must feel tough on the body.
