Dave, I recently bought a Toyota Yaris for $12000. It's tiny, and great on gas. I pay 250 a month, that's with no trade in, very little money down, and the "platinum" warranty (Bumper to bumper, 7 years, 100k miles).

I'm kind of in the sitch where I can't spend that kind of money. My credit is shot, so I won't get a payment plan. I'm on social security. My best shot is to find a heavily used Toyota (and I used to own one) for a few thousand at best. I'd prefer a Honda if I had my druthers, but Toyota is a close second.

I've had used Toyotas as well. Even those were great cars.
